Riso Socials with Foundation Press First Friday of the month | 15:00-17:00 📍Level 2 Art Room Join us on the first Friday of the month for a free and informal, creative session exploring risograph printing techniques. Develop your ideas with free materials, access to a risograph and expert support from our artistic residents, Foundation Press. These workshop sessions are open to adults of all skill levels aged 16 and over. About Foundation PressFoundation Press, led by Adam Phillips and Deborah Bower, develops community-publishing and collaborative art and design projects. This Masala Festival you're invited to join performance artist and theatre maker Saya Naruse to create your own puppet in a hands-on shadow puppetry workshop. This introduction to shadow puppetry will give you a chance to play with materials and make a simple puppet inspired by the themes of Masala Festival from wildlife to myths and legends. No experience is needed; tools can be adapted for most access needs and the workshop will be a relaxed opportunity to try your hand at something new and experiment. The Artist Saya Naruse is a performance artist who creates puppets inspired by nature and tells stories with natural elements. Saya's puppets are designed with elegance and natural earthiness. Saya's passion for nature and the environment is reflected in every aspect of her work, from the materials she uses to the stories she tells. Saya aims to inspire a love for nature and a desire to protect it. Calling all artists & creatives in & around Sunderland! We're hosting our third live 'Show and Tell' podcast recording, and we'd love for you to join us. 'Show and Tell' The recording will be themed like a 'show and tell' event, where you are invited to "step up to the microphone" and share more about your most recent projects / artworks. Building on the success of our previous live recorded podcast episodes, we want to keep developing a space where artists feel in safe company; to share their work, and receive creative critique from other artists. A place to come together with other creatives for conversation, and to celebrate our craft. Two types of tickets: In response to feedback from our first 'Show and Tell' event, we are now trialling two different ticket types: "Bringing Art" - Select this ticket type if you would like to bring your artwork/projects to 'Show and Tell'. (Due to timings, this ticket type is capped at 9 people total.) "Audience" - Select this ticket type if you would prefer to purely listen, and take part in conversation, without bringing your own work.
