Topic: The Alignment Gap - Why hiring breaks down and what we can do to fix it.There’s a gap in almost every hiring process - and it usually opens up right at the start. This TalentCurious breakfast is for in-house TA professionals who know that when alignment is off, everything else falls. Vague briefs, shifting goalposts, radio silence... sound familiar? We’re excited to be joined by Sophie Barker, Head of Talent Acquisition at Openwork Partnership - bringing 20 years of experience in shaping TA strategy and challenging the status quo. In this session, we’ll get stuck into the real reasons hiring goes off-track - and how to close that gap between talent teams and hiring managers for good. We’ll discuss: – The make-or-break moments in your hiring process – How to lead better kick-off conversations (and hold your ground) – Building credibility and becoming the partner the business leans on It’s a small, honest event. Coffee, candid chat, and clear takeaways you can use straight away. Please note: this event is exclusively for in-house talent acquisition professionals and those in similar strategic roles. We operate a strict no sales policy, and registrations from external recruiters or sales representatives will be declined. Information Source: TekCurious - Powered by Peaple Talent | eventbrite

Please join us for the launch of Resistant Forms, a fully illustrated monograph celebrating the first major survey exhibition of Donald Locke (1930–2010). The launch event will feature a panel discussion with artist Dr Hew Locke OBE RA and art historian Giulia Smith. The conversation will be chaired by exhibition curator and Gasworks Director, Robert Leckie, and will be followed by a Q&A with the audience. Resistant Forms is published on the occasion of Donald Locke’s first major survey exhibition organised by Spike Island, Bristol; Ikon Gallery, Birmingham; and Camden Art Centre, London. Charting the development of his work across Guyana, the UK and the United States over five decades, from the mid-1960s to the late 2000s, this richly illustrated volume offers an in-depth exploration of Locke’s expansive practice. Gathering newly commissioned essays by curator Grace Aneiza Ali, artist Eddie Chambers and art historian Giulia Smith alongside an extended introduction by Robert Leckie, Resistant Forms features full-colour plates of the artist’s work, rarely seen material from the artist’s archive and a comprehensive timeline. The book has been designed by London-based studio Wolfe Hall. The exhibition is generously supported by the Ampersand Foundation, Henry Moore Foundation, the Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art, Alison Jacques Gallery and the Estate of Donald Locke.
