John Baumann has established himself as equal parts brilliant songwriter and captivating entertainer. He’s released several solo releases, while honing his songwriting skills and landing cuts with other artists - from Kenny Chesney to the Randy Rogers band, he is not short on innate talent and storytelling. He is also a member of the acclaimed group, The Panhandlers, along with Josh Abbott, William Clark Green and Cleto Cordero (of Flatland Cavalry). He is always writing, working on songs, and in the words of Cormac McCarthy - trying to “be one of the good guys; carrying the fire.” Food and beverages will be available for purchase at the show. The DFW Pinball League presents its Eighth event for 2025 with ANOTHER massive event. This will be the TITAN PINBALL CHAMPIONSHIP in Azle, Texas! As an official Pinburgh satellite, we will be giving away TWO TICKETS TO THE PINBURGH TOURNAMENT. We also anticipate a prize pool between $6000 and $9000 (exact number not yet determined) thanks to Titan Pinball's AMAZING generosity! FORMAT CHANGE ALERT! Since 2017, Titan Pinball has been bringing you a Pin-Masters Championship qualifier. This year, however, TITAN PINBALL has changed formats to Group Match Play! The tournament will also have a 200% TGP value. The tournament should be an IFPA CERTIFIED PLUS EVENT (Certified PLUS tournaments receive an Event Booster of 150% if there are 128 or more rated players - otherwise the booster would be 125%). TOURNAMENT FORMAT AND DETAIL for EACH Tournament : ***** FOR BOTH TOURNAMENTS - THE CHAMPIONSHIP AND THE WARMUP - PLAYERS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PRACTICE OUTSIDE OF THE PUBLISHED PRACTICE TIMES AND NO PLAYING GAMES BETWEEN ROUNDS ***** Warmup Tournament is a Max Matchplay Tournament being run on site by Carpool Pinball! Finals for the Warmup Tournament will be an Amazing Race format tournament. THE TITAN PINBALL CHAMIONSHIP: QUALIFYING is a Group Matchplay tournament on Friday and Saturday (both days are required). There will be two groups -> the 9:30 AM group and the 5:00 PM group Each group will play at the same time on both days. There will be 10 rounds with 2 games per round. FINALS is a Group Elimination/PAPA Style tournament, which is similar to the above, but with lower performing players being eliminated as we go forward (until there's a winner). The top 16 players from EACH group with make it to the A Finals, for 32 total players. This WILL affect final standings. The next 8 players from each group will make it to the B finals. B Division playoffs is playing for money - they do NOT affect final standings (as per published IFPA rules). The B Division is restricted as follows for this event: No one in the top 1000 in the IFPA as of 5/30/2025 may play in the B Division -- so many of the top players are excluded from the B Division so that ANYONE CAN WIN! There will NOT be a KIDZ FINAL / kids tournament at this event. PINBURGH TICKETS: We have TWO Pinburgh tickets - They will be awarded as follows: Everyone will have a chance to win the PINBURGH GOLDEN TICKET. There will be a weighted raffle for the ticket. All players will get 1 entry into the raffle. All players who play in the playoffs (A & B) will get another entry into the raffle. All players in the A playoffs will get a third entry into the raffle. Our TITAN PINBALL Bank Sponsor ticket will be given to the WINNER of the tournament! Neither ticket is transferrable. For both tickets, the winner(s) will have options that Louis Marx can cover with them at the end of the tournament.
