Liverpool Mountain is Swiss-artist Ugo Rondinone’s first public artwork in the UK and the first of its kind in Europe. Inspired by naturally occurring Hoodoos (spires or pyramids of rock) and the art of meditative rock balancing, this 10-metre high sculpture stands within Mermaid Courtyard, outside Tate Liverpool on the Royal Albert Dock Liverpool. It consists of coloured rocks, stacked vertically which seem to defy gravity. This outdoor sculpture marks the 10th anniversary of Liverpool European Capital of Culture, the 20th anniversary of Liverpool Biennial and the 30th anniversary of Tate Liverpool. Commissioned by Liverpool Biennial and Tate Liverpool as part of the Liverpool 2018 events programme with support from Royal Albert Dock Liverpool.

Recently, the 13th Liverpool Biennial announced its theme and list of participating artists. This year's Biennial will be curated by Marie-Anne McQuay, with the theme of "Bedrock", and will be held from June 7 to September 14, 2025. The theme is not only an understanding of the sandstone geology that supports Liverpool and creates its unique architectural landscape, but also a response to the values ​​of the people embodied in Liverpool's social structure.

About this event Join our Education team for arts and crafts activities in the Summer holidays. Each family friendly session is free and lasts up to 45 minutes. All sessions must be pre-booked and each person attending is required to have a ticket. Sessions start at 11:00am, 1:00pm and 2:00pm. Athletics summer camps provided by AP Fitness Coaching. Coaches are qualified to UKA level 2, are insured with UK Athletics and have safeguarding, health and safety training and all hold individual valid DBS certificates. About This Teaching: As we emerge from the global Covid experience, the path may seem littered with confusion, violence, and alienation. About the Teacher: Venerable Amy Miller (Lobsang Chodren) is a touring teacher for FPMT, ordained since 2000. With decades of meditation retreat experience and Buddhist center management, she brings accessible wisdom to contemporary challenges.
