This is the Seventh Section Hike for the Women Who Explore: Ottawa - Rideau Trail Challenge. Starting at Merrickville Locks we walk out of the town to pick up trails through woodland in what seems to be the most indirect route towards Smith Falls which will be our destination next time. We will meet at 9am at the bend in Wood Road and the intersection with Allington Road. There appears to be a small clearing at the trail head where we can leave a couple of cars and then drive back to Merrickville to leave the remaining vehicles and start the hike.
