In the first workshop, Scott Hartley, Director of Press Red, will guide you in using data to build a comprehensive understanding of our Active Local Communities. This will include demographics, target audiences, available facilities, and more. This valuable information will inform our decision-making and planning for the future. Richard Sutcliffe, Director of Funding4Sport, will lead the second workshop, focusing on funding opportunities. Chris Perks, former Sport England place-based Lead, will host a workshop on place-based working. The Safeguarding & Protecting Children (UKCoaching) course is a crucial in-person course designed to enhance individuals' awareness of safeguarding and protecting children. Taking place on 11th December from 9:30am to 12:30pm at the University of Hertfordshire De Havilland Campus in Hatfield (AL10 9EU), this workshop is specifically tailored for participants aged 18 and above who work with young people. This comprehensive workshop aims to guide attendees in identifying and recognizing good practices and their implications. It also encourages exploration of personal values and feelings in relation to child abuse, emphasizing how these may impact responses. Participants will learn to effectively identify and respond to signs and symptoms of child abuse and poor practice, enabling them to take appropriate action if concerns arise. It's worth noting that this workshop is a mandatory requirement for HAF (HAPpy Holiday) camps and various governing bodies of sport. The course is applicable to individuals responsible for organizing children's sports, such as those within governing bodies of sport, local authorities, sport and leisure centers, and sport clubs. It is also relevant for individuals leading or delivering children's sports programs, including coaches, leaders, instructors, development officials, administrators, volunteers, and parents. It's important to mention that the Safeguarding & Protecting Children (UKCoaching) course is free for HAPpy providers.
