With the support of a generous bequest from her grandmother, Annie embarked on her journey to become involved in the world of performing arts. Her friendship with renowned Irish poet W.B. Yeats brought her to Dublin, where she played a pivotal role in the founding of the Abbey Theatre. Though she faced challenges along the way, including controversies at the Midland Hotel and the opening of the Gaiety Theatre, Annie's determination and radical approach made her one of the most prominent women in Manchester during that time. Yet, despite her significant contributions, Annie Horniman's story remains largely unknown today.
