The day starts at 10am and finishes between 3-4pm. Join Mel & Paul in our studio, nestled alongside the renowned Tea rooms at Ferny Hill Farm, Hadley Wood, Barnet, EN4 0PZ. We will go through the step-by-step process of transforming a small vintage piece of furniture into a beautiful modern piece for your home. You can either bring along your own piece of furniture (e.g. side table / plant stand / small bedside table) Or, if you don’t have a piece, we can supply a piece for you at an additional £10 - Please let us know when completing the booking form. A fun day is planned, where you’ll learn new skills and get to release your creativity. The class is capped at 5, so you’ll get plenty of help and support. The workshop will cover the following: · The difference of working on wood, laminate and veneer · How to correctly clean and prep · How and when to strip / sand · How and when to prime · Choosing the right paints (Mineral V Chalk) · How to paint and what tools to use · An insight to different design techniques (decoupage and tape design) · Creating your very own geometric tape design or decoupage application · Protective top coat finishes. All materials are supplied, including an apron. However, we recommend wearing something that you don’t mind getting dirty. Summer Soulstice returns in 2025, now in our 18th year. Bringing you some soul on a summers day, in the idealic surroundings in Barnet, North London. 3 music arena's, live acts, over 30 of the UK's favourite DJ's, food hall, stalls and entertainment for children. To date we have raised well over £520,000 for our friends at Cherry Lodge Cancer Care, and in memory of our brother Andy Weekes. The fabulous DJ's providing the music on the day include: TBA Our food village will provide a diverse range of delicious food, including: Burgers, Bagels, Pop corn, Pizza, Deli food, Ice Creams, Crepes, Carribean, African, Vegan, Vegetarian, Candy Floss, Donuts, Kebabs, Mexican, Wraps + many more... Refund Policy You will not be entitled to a refund if you can no longer attend the festival for any reason, if the festival is rescheduled for another date or if an understudy is used in place of the festival’s headline act or a headlining act changes from the one(s) advertised on the line-up. You may only be entitled to a refund if the festival is cancelled (but not rescheduled) or has changed location. The refund will be at least the face value of the ticket but does not include the booking fees and there will be an additional admin fee charge* of 3% of the ticket order. Alcohol is available to buy at the event at our fully licensed bars. Those who have a valid event & camping eticket can bring in the following amount of alcohol to the camping area on their first entry only and all vehicles will be subject to a security search at this point. The maximum you may bring in per person is 12 cans/plastic bottles of lager/beer/cider and 1.5 litres of wine (in plastic bottle or carton). You will be asked to leave excess quantities outside the event and you will NOT be allowed to re-enter Camp Soulstice with your own alcohol once you’ve entered the site via the entrance gates. Picnics are allowed into the venue but NO metal cutlery or sharp knives please. NO BBQ’s, stoves or cooking fires are allowed in the main festival area. Only soft drinks/water in sealed/unopened bottles & tins are allowed into the festival’s main arena and you will not be able to bring in glass bottles of any kind. Broken glass is very dangerous, not only for people who are attending, but for those who use the playing fields after the festival. If you have driven to the festival, please leave all glass/bottles in your vehicle. Opened and unsealed soft drinks must be disposed of before entering the festival and placed in one of our available litter bins outside the main arena. As a child, I eagerly awaited annual ballet excursions, where the theatre's enchanting scenery cast its spell, whisking me away to fantastical realms hidden between layers of scenery that whispered tales of a story in an unspoken language. I later pursued this passion for ‘setting the scene’ studying set-design in my youth and in my earlier floristry business. To this day, I still style for media and branding shoots. I've had the privilege of working with brilliant interior and food photographers for esteemed publications such as the English Home, Homes & Gardens, Ideal Home, Marie Claire and my colourful little cottage has featured in House & Garden magazine and Homeworthy. Through the passage of time I have developed a method to cultivate a layered style for small areas where space is a compromise - a magical, moody and romantic aesthetic - lived in an historic English cottage.
