Family Events
Bring Your Baby Guided London Walks are sensitively devised to suit parents and carers of even the tiniest babies to enjoy London’s history. Walk Starts: Angel tube station Walk Ends: Highbury & Islington tube station 'Bring Your Baby' Guided London Walks are sensitively devised to suit parents and carers of even the tiniest babies to enjoy London’s history. We can stop whenever you like to feed and change - without the stress of feeling you are holding up the group. Because every participant brings their baby, patience and baby’s needs are at the forefront of each walk. Both buggies and slings are welcome. We plan all our routes to be buggy-friendly and step-free. You are welcome to bring friends and family who do not also have a baby. Please note that every adult attending needs a ticket. Halfway stop for 1 hour at Megan's for lunch and baby change. You are not obligated to eat or drink at Megan's if you would prefer to choose your own lunch plans and return to Megan's to meet back with your guide to resume the walk. You guide will tell you exactly what time to be back. Islington: Actors, Authors & Artists This walk is written and guided by City of London guide and co-author of 'Women from Hackney's History' (2021) & 'Women from Hackney's History' Volume 2 (2025), Sue Doe. - Stroll around the picturesque square that was home to 'Animal Farm' and '1984' author George Orwell, 'Brideshead Revisited' and 'Vile Bodies' writer Evelyn Waugh, and Bloomsbury Group artists Vanessa Bell (sister of Virginia Woolf) and Duncan Grant. - Discover the Upper Street homes of Victorian children's books illustrator Kate Greenaway, and comedian and star of cinema and music hall, Gracie Fields. Across Islington Green see the building which was once the hugely-popular Collins' Music Hall. - Stand outside the home of 'Loot' playwright Joe Orton... who was murdered there by his boyfriend Kenneth Halliwell in 1967. - Visit the house where eminent Victorian painter Walter Sickert once lived. - Visit Colebrooke Cottage, once the home of the Georgian writer Charles Lamb, a prolific writer who co-wrote childrens' book 'Tales from Shakespeare' with his sister Mary Lamb. Both were troubled with mental health issues throughout their lives and in an out of mental institutions across London. - See the former home of controversial novelist and essayist Salman Rushdie, and writer of 2-times Booker Prize-winning 'Midnight's Children' and 'The Satanic Verses', who lived in hiding with around-the-clock security protection for several years when he was threatened with assassination. - Find out where the ancient Angel Inn once stood. - Learn about Islington's watery past at The New River... and Regents Canal tunnel. - Discover the history of Tudor Canonbury Tower, the oldest building in Islington. - Plus: Little Angel Theatre, The Union Chapel, The Islington Dispensary, WW2 bombing, Richard Cloudesley's grave, Kings Head Theatre pub and more... If on the day of the walk we are forecast to have very bad weather, I may have to postpone the walk. If it's a bit of light rain we will cope! Every walk follows the usual health and safety guidelines, such as crossing at traffic lights where possible and having hazards pointed out to you at the start and along the route. There may be times we have to stand in direct sunlight (although I will always choose shade where possible). Please bring all the necessary sun protection for yourself and your child. It is recommended you bring appropriate drinks and snacks for the duration of the walk, especially if the walk takes place at lunchtime. I will contact you with booking confirmation after you book. I will supply my mobile number in case of emergencies or in case you are running late. I will ask you to provide me with a mobile number so you can be contacted for the purposes of the walk, but this is not for marketing purposes. Please note that if you are more than a few minutes late I may ask you to catch up with us. If you like the look of any of my walks, but would prefer to book me privately, please make enquiries at Lucy@bringyourbaby.org. This may particularly be the case if you have people interested who do not have babies. Important notes about booking: Please feel free to invite baby-free friends. Customer refunds must be requested at least 24 hours before an event starts. We cannot guarantee you can move your ticket to the next month but you are welcome to enquire at Lucy@bringyourbaby.org If for any reason Bring Your Baby Ltd are forced to cancel or postpone an event (for example in the case of illness or extreme weather conditions), you are within your rights to request a refund, though we will always suggest an alternative date for you to attend. On occasion we take photos or short video clips at our 'Bring Your Baby Pub Quizzes' or 'Bring Your Baby Guided London Walks'. By attending you are giving your permission for these to be used for Bring Your Baby Ltd promotional purposes. Any individual who we have taken a photograph of and published can request that any photographs are removed and deleted at any time. Even if they have given consent when booking according to our terms and conditions, they can of course withdraw their consent and can contact us at Lucy@bringyourbaby.org Information Source: BRING YOUR BABY GUIDED LONDON WALKS | eventbrite

Join us for the opening of TechNExt Festival 2026. Hear from inspirational speakers in tech, what's in store for festival week and lots more TechNExt26 returns for its fourth edition to showcase the North East’s thriving technology sector. The festival celebrates the region’s commitment to supporting, developing, and growing technology for the benefit of everyone. Across the week, the festival attracts more than 3,000 attendees from the North East, across the UK, and internationally. The programme brings together a series of flagship events and a dynamic festival fringe, with TechNExt Hubs delivering four one-day, themed locations across the region focused on Tech for Good, Tech Startups, Data and AI, and Creative Tech. Festival Launch - Monday 15 June (8.30am - 4pm) - Hilton Newcastle Gateshead This year we are kicking off TechNExt26 with our Festival Launch Conference. This event will feature a single stream of thought provoking conference talks from leaders in technology and related industries. Visit our website for more information. Lunch is provided, and as part of our Good Festival Ambition, please note that all catering at this event will be vegetarian. All additional dietary requirements will also be catered for, please state your needs on the booking form. Good Festival Ambition The festival is planned as a Good Festival with ‘for good’ being a core value running through everything. This will ensure a focus on quality, inclusivity, diversity, accessibility, and sustainability. As part of this ambition, we are offering a buddy system where attendees can select the option to be met by a friendly face from the TechNExt team or wider community on arrival. Your buddy would help you feel comfortable at the event perhaps by chatting over a coffee on arrival, introducing you to new faces, or help you understand more about the content of the event and what's planned that day. You can apply for a 'buddy' through the ticket purchase process. We are also committed to minimising the impact of our events on the environment. We work closely with our clients, venues, suppliers and delegates to reduce the impact of our activity wherever possible. Last year, the festival’s curated events generated 18.19 tCO₂e, and we offset this by supporting the Dynamo Digital Inclusion Fund. More measures will be intoduced this year, tracking the festival's carbon footprint once again, leading us to further reduce our impact and become carbon neutral in future years. You will be asked to complete some questions about your planned travel which will help us create the carbon footprint for the festival. Refunds Please note our ticket refund policy below: Up to 12 weeks before the event starts - full refund More than 8 weeks before the event starts, but less than 12 weeks - 50% refund Less than 8 weeks before the event starts - no refund Information Source: TechNExt Festival | eventbrite
