The Session is aimed at beginners to novices, who want to get a basic understanding of paddle boarding. The session will go over the board basics, saftey equipment, hazards and tips to get you on your feet and paddling, after an initial land lesson , we will then head out on to the water to go through the basics of paddling, turning, stopping , falling whilst having a bit of a laugh,
All participants
must
use their own suitable clothing.
a wetsuit is preferable, but if you don't have one ,wear something that can get wet, but keep you warm, suitable clothing can be joggers/leggings/shorts and t-shirt, quick drying gym wear.
Boards, Paddles and PFDs (Personal Flotation Device) are be provided by the club.
Changing rooms are available at the club .
the Sessions are for persons over 12 years of age and you should be able to swim 50 m unaided.
if your lucky enough to be under 18 and over 12, we would need you to be accompanied by a participating adult on the water.
if you are over 18 great, your an adult !! no supervision needed,
Cost is £40 for the session , which will last about 2 hours, its payable to event brite and the cost include the booking fee and all equipment hire.
We can't factor in the weather and some weather conditions don't work well with Stand Up paddle , so PLEASE NOTE THAT TASTERS/LESSONS CAN BE CANCELLED AT SHORT NOTICE DUE TO BAD WEATHER. A CANCELLED SESSION BY MCSUP WILL BE REARRANGED.
- I understand and acknowledge that SUP activities are dangerous and that there are inherent risks which may result in serious injury to myself. Additionally, water/waves/ocean can act in a sudden and unpredictable (changeable) way.
- I declare that I can swim 50 metres (150 feet).
- I declare that I do not have any medical or physical conditions that would affect my participation in the activity. (e.g. please advise instructor of asthma, previous broken bones, dislocated joints, diabetes, allergic reactions, wear contact lenses/hearing aids, any disabilities, etc.)
- I agree not to drink alcohol or take prohibited drugs before or during SUP activities.
- I understand that submitting this document constitutes a complete and unconditional release of all liability of the proprietors of the SUP Business and its employees and agents to the greatest extent allowed by the law in the event of me and/or the children under my care, suffering injury or death.
- I authorise the SUP Business to arrange medical or hospital treatment as necessary and I agree to pay for all associated costs.
Minimum Session Numbers are 3 Persons , if the event gets less than the minimum numbers the instructor will have the Final approval for the event to take place,
ticket sales close at 5pm the night before, if numbers are not sufficient, the event will be rearranged, please keep and eye on your email the night before
Maximum Numbers are 8 persons
MCSUP Code of Conduct
It is the policy of Mid Cheshire Stand-Up Paddle Boarding Club that all paddlers, volunteers, instructors and parents show respect and understanding for each other and conduct themselves in a way that reflects the principles of the Club. The aim is for all paddlers to improve performance and have fun.
By Participating in the event / Session you agree to abide by the Club Rules and Policies.
Paddlers agree to
• Not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol
• Be physically and mentally fit to engage in the activity
• Treat other club members with respect at all times - on and off the water - treat other paddlers as you would want to
be treated yourself.
• Control tempers and avoid behaviour which may affect or upset others.
• Co-operate and listen to your coach or club officials.
• Consider the wellbeing and safety of paddlers before the development of performance.
• Develop an appropriate working relationship with performers, based on mutual trust and respect.
• Make sure all activities are appropriate to the age, ability and experience of those taking part.
• Display consistently high standards of behaviour and appearance.
• Encourage paddlers to value their performance and not just results.
• Never condone the use of prohibitive substances.
• Wear appropriate clothing and buoyancy aids.
Parents/Guardians agree to
• Help your child to recognise good performance, not just results.
• Never force your child to take part in sport.
• Never punish or belittle a child for loosing or making mistakes.
• Publicly accept official’s judgements.
• Support your child’s involvement and help them to enjoy the sport.
• Use correct and proper language at all times.
