Join local basket maker Helen Jackson at the Greyhope Bay Centre in Aberdeen and learn the skill of weaving willow while enjoying the breathtaking coastal views. Immerse yourself in the beauty of Aberdeen's stunning coastline as you create a beautiful fish platter using locally sourced willow. In this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to weave a platter, approximately 12 inches in size, using organic, homegrown willow and local typhus rush. This workshop serves as an excellent introduction to the art of weaving with willow. Rest assured, all materials will be provided for your convenience.

Helen Jackson, a member of the Scottish Basketmakers' Circle and Heritage Crafts Association, will guide you through the process of creating functional baskets with traditional techniques, while also exploring new shapes and forms. As a non-Crew member, you can participate in this workshop for £15. However, if you are a Crew member or an adult over 65 years of age, you will receive a 30% discount. Please note that tickets cancelled within 48 hours of the event start time are not eligible for a refund.
