Homestays in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan

I found this hotel by chance and stayed for two nights. It felt very relaxing and comfortable. The hotel is run by a Chinese from Shanghai who immigrated to Japan, and the owner is very enthusiastic. Since the days are short and the nights are long in winter in Izu, it gets dark at five o'clock and many shops are closed. When we were wondering what to do, the shop owner offered to drive us to a convenience store to buy groceries and introduced us to a restaurant frequented by locals. After dinner, we were picked up at the restaurant and returned to the hotel. The atmosphere of the entire hotel is very leisurely. The hotel is connected to an art gallery, which is the work of the hotel owner. There is also a coffee shop that sells coffee and cakes, which are also homemade by the owner, which is quite thoughtful. There happened to be no other guests during our two-day stay, so the public hot spring facilities became private, which was quite a surprise. 😃 In the morning, there are cute little squirrels on the terrace. You can have a good cup of tea and have a leisurely breakfast before setting off for the next stop. 😎 When we left, the hotel owner even drove us to the train station, which was very considerate.

A very satisfactory B&B. The navigation on Google Maps was correct. It was a B&B run by a couple. The owner, especially the lady boss, spoke good English and was very friendly. They even drove us to the supermarket to buy things at night and helped us to arrange for the next day's shopping. Communicate with the other hotel we stayed at, plan the itinerary, and drive us to our destination. It was a really great experience, which really reflected the friendliness, simplicity and patience of the locals. It is a B&B worth recommending. I will definitely choose this place again next time I go to Izu!

Such a spectacular place to stay! The owners are extremely friendly. They are there when you need (during check in, morning of check out) but leave a lot of privacy to the guests. The unit is very well appointed, with all amenities prepared. There's a separate study/office where you can work if needed. The den overlook the pond of the shrine 50m from the residence. There is a full kitchen which we definitely enjoyed making and having dinner and breakfast there. Would go back again.

The hotel is very close to Mount Omuro, about a 5-minute walk. However, perhaps because it's located on the mountain, there aren't many people staying there. The room was full of small flying and crawling insects, which is why they had insecticide in the room. It didn't sleep well that night. There was also a fake green tree in the corner of the room, but when I got closer, I saw it was covered in dust. I guess with so few people there, they didn't have time to clean it. I didn't order meals, but the front desk was happy to help me order takeout.

Very good, enjoyed a quiet night. Convenient transportation, whether it is to go to the water group tour or return to the city is very convenient. It is also very close to the nearby restaurant and can be reached in a while. The owner was very good and informed many details in advance through the email.
