Lotus Bleu Guest House

4,7/10

Location is pretty convenient, 15min walk to the Pub street, there’s 7/11 and laundry service right around the corner. Hosts are lovely and sweet; I booked the place via trip.com and the room they provided was different from the photos; i booked a nice looking white room as they showed on my reservation but I ended up in a different room which was dark and not as fresh looking as I was expecting. Bathroom is a bit tricky, water usually spills all across the floor, and takes time to drain. Room has both AC and a ceiling fan, they provide toothbrush and small soaps, as well as towels; no flip-flops. Room and bathroom were both quite spacious, although it was rather dark inside since lightbulbs don’t actually light up much. The bedding appears clean but it isn’t the most fresh and you can see some stains but it is in an acceptable condition, although the mat in front of the bathroom door was quite old and filthy looking. There isn’t a mini fridge or blow dryer in the room and also no sockets in the bathroom which was actually quite inconvenient. They have a nice small pool in the yard. Guest house doesn’t provide house keeping unless you ask; same with drinking water - you have to ask and they will give bottles. There was a child on the premises that often screamed, which was rather unpleasant during the waking hours tbh. Overall, it was a normal place considering the price; i would stay there again assuming that they provide the room I book and not something else.

Angkor Piseth Homestay

Nice place with the Piseth family, it has the feel of a bed and breakfast but the privacy of a hotel. They offer food and rental services as well as taxi services, which we took advantage of, all for a fair price. This is one of the closest places to angkor wat but is still an hour walk so we hired a bicycle on our 2nd trip to the temples. While we appreciated the bikes, they were quite old and uncomfortable, I ride a bike almost daily back home and this was a whole other experience. The food was great and cheap, we ate at the homestay every night apart from 1. I got the fried rice each time as I don't eat meat and it was cheap and filling, although, one evening my partner, who also doesn't eat meat, had a single piece of chicken in her vegetable noodle dish which was disappointing to say the least. Apart from this the food and services were great, as were the prices and location. Definitely recommendable

Sala Lodges in the enchanting city of Siem Reap is nothing short of a hidden gem that boasts not only of charming aesthetics but also of exceptional service that made our stay unforgettable. Nestled quietly away, this hotel provided a tranquil retreat that was much needed during our travel. The service at Sala Lodges was commendable, embodying the true spirit of hospitality. The staff were attentive, approachable, and consistently willing to assist us in organizing our trips around Siem Reap, making the overall experience hassle-free and enjoyable. A special shoutout to the Swiss owners who were genuinely amiable and made us feel warmly welcomed. As for the accommodations, the rooms in Sala Lodges were a delightful surprise. Each room bore discrete charm with its tasteful decoration, seamlessly blending traditional and contemporary elements. The authentic Khmer old houses are full of charm, yet modern and well preserved. The hotel’s kitchen offered a menu that might seem simple at a glance but was satisfyingly delightful upon tasting. Every dish we tried was prepared well, with fresh ingredients and flavors that are comforting yet exciting to the palate. The breakfast, in particular, deserves an extra note of praise for being consistently good, providing a delightful start to our days of exploration. Adding to the hotel’s allure was the inviting swimming pool, serving as a refreshing sanctuary after a day of touring the magical temples and vibrant markets of Siem Reap. During the wet season, the atmosphere around Sala Lodges was even more calming and soothing, with the soft sound of rain providing a comforting backdrop to our stay. To sum it up, our experience at Sala Lodges was nothing short of magical. From the excellent service to the beautifully appointed rooms and delightful meals, every aspect of the hotel contributed to a stay that was serene, comfortable, and absolutely enjoyable. Whether you’re traveling in the wet season or not, Sala Lodges offers a cosy retreat that will surely enhance your Siem Reap adventure. Highly recommended!

The ”rooms” (small houses, really) are very spacious and clean. The bathroom is almost as big as a living area. We had three sinks, one in the bedroom and two in the bathroom. The pool is wonderful, very big, clean and well maintained. Most of it is around 1.7 meters deep, with smooth transition in the beginning. Location is great, it is in the middle of private houses sector, so it's very silent at night. There're a couple restaurants in the 15 minute walking distance, but if you're on a budget, we recommend making a 20 minute trip to the more populated area (supermarket/gas station/more cafes/restaurants). The Angkor Bicycle rental is just 10 minutes away by tuk-tuk for 10k riel/2.5 dollars

Le Water Villa

Very Good

I booked a room a this hotel through Trip.com at the time I was travelling to a tight budget and photos of rooms made then look more spacious than they actually were. The furniture and bed took up most of the room, there was no lock box and a flyer was taped to the wall informing guests that the cable television wasn’t working and gave us details of the free wifi. I laid down on the comfy bed and realised I could not stay in this place for a week so I checked out to find another hotel. The staff were lovely and it is a cool little hotel for the budget traveler but with no functioning tv and no lock box in the room, I would recommend it for a short stay.

A wonderful place to stay. Calm and small with a fantastic pool where you get proper sun all day. Be mindful that in Siem Reap many hotels advertised a pool but it is in the shade. Easy to organise everything with them. We did different trips , although we like to organise ourselves bd it was fantastic. Note that you have a tuktuk free to town. Rooms are spacious bungalows. Things to improve is breakfast à la carte which feels boring after a few days. Staff there are wonderful and they will make everything to make you stay feel wonderful. Highly recommend this place as it offers the right balance - not big resort but with wonderful facilities.

We loved the space so much that we decided to extend our stay for another night. The team was very responsive and flexible with both check-in and check-out times. They even contacted us to confirm our arrival time and make sure everything was ready. Their hospitality and attention to detail made our stay even more enjoyable.
