I stayed in an 8-bed dorm and overall had a comfortable stay. The bed, pillow, and blanket were good, and I slept well, although the mattress felt a bit like an air mattress. There are lockers available, but you need to bring your own lock. The reception staff were always helpful, whether it was arranging a taxi or answering questions. I also liked the small café at the hotel — it was cute and convenient. Bathrooms and toilets were close by, especially if you stay on the ground floor. The only downside was that another guest turned off the air conditioning during the night, which made the room uncomfortable, but that was more about the guest than the hotel itself. Overall, I felt safe, comfortable, and I liked staying here.

I recently visited Smugglers Hotel and had a mixed experience that I believe management should take seriously for the safety and comfort of their guests. One of my main concerns is the lack of clear separation between smoking and non-smoking areas. While I was seated in the dining area having lunch, cigarette smoke drifted into the space, which triggered an asthma attack. This was a distressing and avoidable situation. I strongly recommend that the hotel either designates a smoking area at least 10 meters away from dining and common areas or ensures that smoking sections are completely separate and well-ventilated to prevent exposure to non-smoking guests. Additionally, it would be beneficial for staff to have basic first aid training, including CPR. In situations like mine, having trained personnel on-site could make a significant difference in responding quickly and effectively to health emergencies. I hope management takes these suggestions seriously and implements improvements to create a safer and more comfortable environment for all guests.

I stayed at this accommodation while in Fiji for about 5 days during my transition. The location is very good, about 1 minute walk from the beach. However, you have to use a bus or taxi from the airport. The bus costs $1.50 no matter how far you go, and a taxi costs about $20. At the hotel, the showers were free to use, and the toilets were clean. I think it's better to bring your own towels. At night, I had a lot of fun singing and talking with the other guests while drinking a traditional drink called kava. I would like to stay here again if I go to Fiji.

I stayed here for two nights in a dorm, lodge 1. I had a top bunk and there wasn’t a railing so I was pretty worried about falling out. Also there weren’t any plugs inside the room - only one outside in the washroom area. Apparently the other dorm lodges do have plugs and railings though. Food is only at set times but was pretty reasonably priced! I had the split pea soup for dinner one night (5/5!) and a veggie curry the following (3/5) and a veggie burger for lunch (4.5/5). Complimentary breakfast was pretty basic but good enough! They had soy and almond milk available. There is a cute ethical shop/cafe nearby which is so nice but other than that I don’t think there’s much else within walking distance in terms of shops. The resort had daily activities to get involved with which is a bonus!! The pool was also very nice and the beach is great for snorkelling! My favourite part of the beach house was the shower in the washroom area attached to the dorm/lodge. It was an outside area but secluded and the shower pressure was insane!! And nice warm water. However, the toilet itself smelt pretty bad and I didn’t dare go near it.

The superior sea view room is small and exquisite, and there are some, but the toilet has been out of water and needs to be repaired.
