The place has a great vibe, with super friendly staff who give you a warm welcome. You can top up the breakfast for a small price, and it’s honestly really good!
However, there were a few things that made me uncomfortable. The room had a super mouldy smell, and while I stayed in a female dorm, the male staff were the ones changing bedsheets after checkouts. He even laid down on a freshly made bed and started using his phone, which felt unprofessional.
What concerned me the most was that a male staff entered the room without knocking or informing us. He even tried to open the curtain around my bed but fortunately, I wasn’t inside at the time. He then asked if I was ready to check out. I can’t help but wonder what could have happened if I changing clothes or not properly dressed.
I really hope the management can look into this and provide proper training on boundaries and guest privacy, especially in shared female spaces.

Amazing staff, very welcoming and even though I have checked out already, they still let me hangout in the common areas when my plans had change!!! It was my first time ever using a hostel, and Ubud Tropical is my standard now! Rooms are very cozy. Small rooms but I did not really mind it, and I really like the pool!
Location is a bit far from some places, but still have good restos and cafes that are walkable.

I love this place so much especially the pool. I’ve met new people while staying here and they make lots of activities for the people staying there so you won’t feel alone being a solo traveler and damn I love the pool and the breakfast included to the accommodation I chose. Wish I could stay longer though. It’s just quite expensive for a hostel shared room but I guess due to the amazing pool they have. I would love to go back again if ever I’m in Bali 🤗!!!

I booked M Boutique Hostel only for one night on my arrival. The location was great. Lots of establishments around like spa, restaurants, bars, souvenir shops, convenience stores, etc. It was easy to spot. There's a pool but was on maintenance when I stayed there. The male shower room was under maintenance as well in the mixed dorm. I liked the most that they gave RFIDs (card and bracelet) for the doors and lockers. Thought the socket in my bed wasnt really working, had to be in a certain angle for it to work. Overall, it was a great stay!

hi guys, i stayed this hostel for 4 nights, was insane!! im pretty sure almost customer were just 1 night or 2 night. so when i made a friends in there, it was so early to say goodbye. about the facility, all of floor were clean and tidy ngl. in specific, i was shook that there is a good pool in this hostel!! people who work in the hostel were so kind and has a good hospitality. if u are bothering whether stay or not, im literally recommend u to stay this hostel! thanks for seeing my review and hope its gonna help u
Lovely hostel. We stayed for 2 nights in a double room, very nice room with comfortable bed. Nice hot shower which is a bonus.
The standout of the hostel were the hosts. They were extremely helpful, whether you need a boat to another island, taxis, motorbikes, they couldn’t do more to try and help and make your stay as good as possible, would definitely recommend purely based on them alone. If we ever revisit Nusa Penida I would definitely stay here again just so I could meet the hosts again, honestly they were amazing.

Stayed there the night before going to the airport, very convenient location - abt 10-15 min scooter ride from the hostel to the airport, the hostel is nice and clean, bed is comfortable, you get a towel, there's shampoo and shower gel in the showerroom, also hairdryer, everyone has a spacious locker, there's though a lot of beds in one room and thus sleeping conditions can be tough (counted 12 beds) so defo recommend having earplugs, close to the beach

The staff was welcoming, accomodating and helpful.
The room was clean inside and a bedsheets as well, bed was comfy but there was a black mold on the ceiling.
Bathroom was clean and large but there were no any shampoo/shower gel and also they don't offer a towel.
As for the breakfast it was 1 delicious banana pancake and a cup of tea/coffee.
The location was good, this place is situated in 5 mins walk from Ubud palace and 15 mins walk from Monkey forest.
The Wi-Fi connection was poor especially in the evenings. You cannot even listen your music online from stream services and use social media as well.
There were no any dispenser with drinking water even at the common area.
The last evening it was totally smoky at this place it was very hard to breathe.
Even for a hostel it's weak, the elevator doesn't work, although there are 5 floors, on the roof there is a small dirty trough called a swimming pool, the shower is dirty, the door lock was broken, they fixed it after three reminders, I left there early, the only plus is the price

XXIAOXIABreakfast is a local rice dumpling-like rice ball, you can take two slices of bread, there are strawberry jam and chocolate sauce, coffee and tea are optional, the room is very good, the front desk staff is very good, I was sick one day before I left. I bought a dinner for me and sent it to the room. Thank you very much.
JJames McGeoughReally amazing staff who tried their best in the face of some adversity. Bali is a special place where all the troubles and tribulations of every day life can instantly dissolve.
Chill House is not perfect and the main problem is … age. It’s been around for ever with no real upgrades. Some guests will love this “old” ambiance but it’s not really for everyone … although rates are lower than other options. Plumbing and hot water were an issue in bathrooms but the staff were very happy and helpful to assist in making room changes.
It’s truly a great experience for some but not so suitable for others. One strong point is the vegetation on the property is great and hides many flaws. The geckos are cute but not for everyone. Some will be agitated by this.
As always, any issues we had were met with gracious smiles and efficient hospitality. The location is a couple of kilometers inland from the beach so it’s relatively quiet yet has some cool restaurants west of the hotel such as TYGR, one of my favorites. With ride hailing services such as Grab and Gojek, getting around is easier than ever.
More regular training should be arranged for staff; they confused the bed cover ends so the bottom (the open part) was where the head should be. Frequently found hair from other guests on newly changed bed sheets.

KKok Chern1. attentive & polite staff throughout the stay, daily cleaning your room.
2. great scenery at backyard surrounding, you may view it from balcony or staircase area.
3. suitable for small family residence, got a small pool, but good enough to cool off after a long day travel under hot sun.
4. strategic location, inside road valley at Ubud downtown, accessible to outside main road shops & bus stop for Trans Metro Dewata - KB4 line & Gojek rider meet up point, walkable to Ubud town attraction on North & Monkey Forest at South

SSylvie DelsauxThe place is very nice, next to rice fields, away from the bustling city and close to many waterfalls. The environment is therefore super quiet.
This homestay has 3 tents and 1 room (the one with walls on the photos, the 2 others are not available).
The room was clean, even though a little effort could be made in the corner and on the windows.
The kitchen is basic and allows you to cook simple meals.
I was disappointed though that the swimming pool is not accessible despite the attractive showcased photos because it is in a private area (where the 2 other rooms are). Only the small piece of grass and the kitchen are accessible.
Next to that, the staff and owner are friendly and very responsive, providing a very good service.
