The hotel is in an excellent location and it's very convenient to walk to nearby attractions! Great, great! The only drawback is that there is no elevator, so you have to carry heavy luggage by yourself. However, the staff's service attitude is particularly good and they provided great assistance! I highly recommend this hotel!
great location, in front of new region street, close to city center. facilities are good, there are several bathrooms and toilets, never waited for one. kitchen is big, didn't use them but I think it's enough for backpacker to cook and storage their foods in fridge. I living in room for single, got a locker wardrobe and a window inside. I think there should be a table inside but there isn't, not big deal. the window was tricky, I don't.know how.to open or close it, it's like a trapdoor, maybe during winter it would be cold.
This is a hotel that was converted from a historic prison. The staff are very nice and the guests are very friendly. It feels like a big family living together. It is not too far to walk to the city, so everything is very convenient.
It was Easter đŁ week so the shop was closed, so I called and they opened the door for me.
The shop is a bar, so it may be crowded on normal days, but I think it's a good idea to check with the staff. Everyone is very friendly and kind, so you can enter the room with peace of mind. The private room is as shown in the photo, and it even has a refrigerator. It was kept clean and very comfortable. It was raining and the outside temperature dropped, but it didn't affect the room. The shared space is the kitchen, shower and toilet, but this shop has been there since the 1800s, so you can feel the history. However, the kitchen has been remade and is induction compatible. I have only ever used gas, but I was able to use it without any problems!
I also decided on this hotel because I was planning to watch a rugby game. It is about a 15-minute walk away, and there are McDonalds and other places, and the street lights are basically on, so I think the security is not a problem.
I highly recommend this hotel over other Doritomi, so please give it a try!
Thank you for a wonderful time!

Location is great, just a few minutes from famous spots in the CBD. Easy check-in and staff are friendly.
The unit could use an upgrade, the furniture and fixtures have wear and tear that comes with age. The unit is also cold, not enough heating.
Couldn't snag a room at the popular Hermitage five months in advance? Haka House Aoraki Mt Cook Youth Hostel ends up being a âreluctant alternativeâ for accommodation in Mount Cook. A double room here costs NZD 349 per night, and the facilities are as basic as a budget hotel, offering far less value for money than Queenstown's same-price B&Bs. For backpackers, a bunk in a shared dorm for NZD 74 per night is a better fit. The communal bathrooms and kitchen, though old, are clean and suitable for self-catering to save money.
The highlight is its excellent location; it's a 10-minute walk to the trailhead, and late at night, you can step outside to see the Milky Way and snow-capped mountains. However, the double rooms have poor soundproofing and inadequate heating. During peak times, you might have to queue for the bathroom, so bringing your own slippers and earplugs is recommended. If you're driving and on a budget, I highly recommend staying in Twizel, a 30-minute drive away. You can get a standard motel room for around a hundred NZD â wouldn't you rather spend the savings on salmon? If you're staying overnight in Mount Cook, just book a hostel bunk!

YYangyang05The location is next to the road, so there will be noise at night when cars pass by quickly and the houses here are generally not soundproofed. But if the room is near the parking lot, maybe it can be improved. Everything else is perfect, because there is a living room and an open kitchen, two bedrooms (one with a single bed and one with a double bed), a separate bathroom with dry and wet areas, and a hair dryer, which is a great deal
LLouis ConnorWe were running late and were going to miss the advertised check-in time, so I called ahead to find out what to do. Although no-one answered the phone, we were informed by the automated answerphone that if you missed check-in, they would leave your keys to your room in a lock-box outside reception. This is a major plus for travellers as it can be so hard to execute your travel plans to schedule!
The facilities in The Lodge, where we were staying were mostly communal and hostel-like - people seemed to hang around in hallways. For some this could be a great way to socialise or otherwise intimidating. These communal areas were slightly untidy and unclean. We stayed in a room with en-suite facilities. It was very basic with two large twin beds pushed together to make a King-sized bed. The shower temperature fluctuated massively but we had a comfortable stay.
We did not eat on-site as we found it to be overpriced but we did notice that there was a wide range of social events such as a pub quiz which would have been super fun if we had more time!
DDragan S**Comfortable Stay with Great Service**
I had a pleasant stay at **Rosewood Court Motel**. The room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped with all the essentials, including a comfortable bed and a small kitchenette. The Wi-Fi was reliable, and the parking was convenient.
The staff was friendly and accommodating, always ready to help with any requests. The location was also greatâclose to shops, restaurants, and easy access to the city.
Overall, itâs a good choice for a comfortable and hassle-free stay. I would definitely consider staying here again.
AAnonymous UserGreat room, everything you need for the night.
Location not close to centre, but super close to the railway station for the Costal Pacific train, which was my reason for booking this motel.
Reception staff very friendly, even providing bottle of milk for the morning coffee!
GGuest UserWhen I arrived I was told I had an upstairs unit. Unfortunately I had a lot of luggage. Changing to a lower level was not possible. But an offer was made to assist me with the luggage.Â
I drove towards the unit and there is no available parking close by. Â I drove back to the front desk and explained my problem. They told me that they could move a car to allow me to park. One of the staff followed me back and took care of finding a space and also delivering a cone so that I could hold the space when I went out to dinner. He also came back to help with the luggage. Â So great staff! But the lack of parking (because they let people leave their cars there when they fly) would make me reconsider staying again.
Iâd booked an Economy studio and was given an Economy two bedroom. Unit was a blend of older and newer features. Bathroom was updated but shower stall looked older and not as clean. Good water pressure.Â
Ordered breakfast at the on-site Restaurant. The waffles with berry compote & lemon curd was a large portion but very tasty. Great coffee.Â
GGUIYINGThe hotel has a parking lot and no breakfast, but the location of the hotel is very good. It is a few minutes away from the large supermarket, Chinatown and food street. It is very convenient to eat. You can also come to the supermarket to buy food and cook for yourself. This hotel has Chinese service.
GGuest UserThere are snow-capped mountains outside the window, and the scenery is beautiful. The hotel facilities are very good, exceeding expectations. It is very convenient to climb Mount Cook!
But there is very little food in this place, and there is no supermarket. It is best to bring some cooked food and bread and fruit with you.
But please note that if the cooked food has a strong smell, you may be charged extra
GGuest UserIt was my first time staying at a motel so I was a bit nervous, but they were very accommodating to my early check-in and the room was very clean.
There was also a laundry room, which was helpful for a long stay.
MM470733****The location is incredibly convenient for the airport. With a 24-hour front desk, it's ideal for late-night arrivals or early-morning departures. The airport is just a 15-minute walk away, which is a huge plus given how unreliable local bus services can be. Getting to the city center is also easy; bus #29 will get you there in about half an hour.
