I was hesitant to stay here due to some negative reviews I'd read beforehand. However, I found those reviews to be quite demanding, especially considering the price paid. The location is excellent, close to the train station and the ferry departure points, and the neighborhood is quite peaceful. The building is old, and the elevators don't always work perfectly. The rooms are basic, and the beds don't have individual curtains. I still recommend it because the value for money is incredible.

I opted for a private king room and it was pretty great. Very well equipped with a small fridge, a large king bed and its own bathroom. Moreover, being also a hostel then you have access to the kitchen and laundry room even when you're enjoying the privacy of your own room.
The location was great too. A quick 5 minutes walk to Tepapa Museum which is itself a destination while in Wellington. În general you can walk to the nicest spots in the city within 10-20 minutes. Oh, and there's a big New World supermarket right across the street.
I definetely recommend it and I'll come back to it.

The location is quite convenient, there are many restaurants around the building, especially many Chinese restaurants. The transportation is also quite convenient, the overall environment is quite clean, and the facilities are quite complete.

The average price seems to be about $42.
It's $10 more expensive than other hostels, but it seems to be expensive.
You can get a variety of discount coupons such as cable car, beer brewery, brewery, etc. I didn't use it, but I think I rent a free bike.
There are various activities every week, so it would be good to make people.

Very friendly staff, super helpful, seem like they really care about the people staying.
The bedroom we stayed in was really nice, the bed was super comfy.
Would stay again, in fact, we intend to re book soon!

刘刘Hotel location is very good, in the center of Wellington, the parking lot is on the upper floor, to go up a steep slope, parking fee 15 NZ / day. The interior decoration is a bit antique and has a sense of history. The downside is that I arrived at the hotel on Christmas Eve, and the front desk was closed (should be at 7 pm), saying that I sent an email to me, but I didn't find it in fact. Still the cleaning guy, contacted me, opened the key box, and got the key.

张张Especially good, the boss is also good, gave a lot of help. The hotel is clean and strategically located. At the door are KFC and McDonald's, as well as large supermarkets. Very convenient.

GGuest UserA nice clean big room which I would’ve enjoyed more if the room didn’t smell like wet dog. I didmt complain or ask for a different room. So my bad. I was only there for 1 night. And I bought an air freshener from the shop. It didn’t help sadly. Or having the windows open or the fan on. The room had potential otherwise. The bed was comfy, the shower was great. There was a little kitchenette also. It was just a shame it smelled bad.
GGuest UserThe reservation was for Lower Hart, but the hotel location is some distance from Lower Hart. The sanitation is slightly worse, the quilt is darker, and it feels unwashed.
GGuest UserWe absolutely loved our stay (15/04/2026 – 17/04/2026)! It started with such a warm, helpful welcome at reception and only got better from there. The rooms are huge and fully equipped—having a kitchen was a total lifesaver since we prefer home-cooked meals over eating out. Thank you for a wonderful experience; we highly recommend it.
