Sanctuary by Sirromet

We loved it! A very nice place to relax, with lots of kangaroos around. We tried a dinner there. The environment and surroundings are spectacular. The food taste good. Will go there again.

Our cabin was in a great position over looking the lake, was a very pleasant and peaceful stay. Loved the breaky hamper delivered in the morning with fresh croissants to toast yourself. Will definitely be back again.

We stayed here 3 nights and had activities booked each day prior to arriving into the country. After having stayed here it would’ve been nice to just hang out on the property for a day and certainly at the beginning and end of each day to see the exotic wildlife. We were awaken each morning at 4:45am with lorikeets squawking and eating right outside our room. I am by no means a morning person at all but it was very cool to wake up to the sounds of birds and the photos I got were quite good. I would recommend staying on the property till about 8 AM each day and be back to your room by about 3:30pm so that you can see the wallabies and birdlife, which are most abundant at sunset and dawn. The room is not large and it’s pretty basic but comfortable. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was big enough. There’s also a refrigerator and a microwave. There’s no breakfast in a restaurant however, they bring you a hamper at 6:30 am which is the Australian term for picnic basket, which had a plentiful amount of breakfast food and juices. There is a nice deck outside your room to sit and eat and watch the sunrise, sunset, wallabies, and birdlife. For dinner we went to the restaurant. You have to drive because the rooms are about a half a mile or more from winery and restaurant and there is no lighting to walk. Dinner was good but the menu is somewhat limited. The beef dishes we had were overcooked which surprised us after telling the waitress twice what we wanted. The salad was good and the pasta dish was good. All the staff we met from check in to restaurant staff were nice and pleasant.

This was a nice stay but I think it was over priced for inclusions. They could upgrade simple things (eg toilet paper) and make it the luxury experience you are already paying. We were lucky to stay when it wasn’t busy but could clearly hear conversations in the tent behind ours so if it was busy there I imagine it wouldn’t be the secluded holiday you are searching for. The dinner at the restaurant was absolutely delicious - seafood tower was fantastic.

Possibly one of the worst customer service I have ever experience. Book the simply sirromet package through their website expecting to get a wine tasting included (the reason we booked), for the teenage receptionist to tell us we only booked a one night stay which doesn't include the wine tasting. Their website is very misleading and even when you click through the book now for the package, they change it at the last minute and in tiny writing that says only breakfast included and nothing about a wine tasting. When asking the receptionist about this, he clicked through the exact package that they also advertised on their Instagram and said no I must have clicked the wrong button. No understanding, empathy or problem solving at all. No response from their team after emailing and asking about it. Still haven’t received the “bond” money back ($150 mind you). Would not recommend at all. To top it off, it was Easter Sunday which I expect surcharges but no where stated a surcharge or advertised the higher price but would tell you $22 and charge you $25 on the card. So rude! Will not be going back!

We felt so special and the service was fantastic. Would definitely recommend for couples/families/friends! 100% we will be back! Food and wine was fabulous too. The tour was extremely informative and the wine tasting was so much fun. 10s all round!

My wife and I loved the entire experience with our cabin accommodation and wine touring. Archie was our waiter at the Tuscan Terrace and displayed excellent service. We highly recommend the dine and stay deal which provides a great adventure.

The location of Sanctuary by Sirromet is beautiful. Kangaroos roam freely, watching the ducks in the pond. It's stunning. We were there for a wedding and the venue was beautiful. As for the accommodation we paid over $400 a night, which we were there for two nights in the glamping tents and thought it would have been more to suit the price. Sadly it wasn't. You can hear the people in the neighbouring tents, the zipping of the windows up was extremely difficult, and the traffic noise at night was loud. The bed was comfortable, and the tent was large and clean, which was a positive. This is probably somewhere we would not stay again.

The great things: Super comfortable glamping experience. Comfortable bed and facilities. Great to have onsite dining options and the breakfast hampers. Tasty food and friendly service at Tuscan Terrace. Missed out the opportunity to have a flight at the Cellar Door. I hear the staff are brilliant in sharing their wine knowledge. But still managed to have a tasting at the Tuscan Terrace. Not perfect: Noise does travel through tent walls and if you have a noisy neighbour that can take the edge off the beautiful peaceful surrounds. Summary: Would highly recommend for a night or two stay. Loved the local wildlife and feeling like you are in the country.
