We have been to more than 100 hotels around the world. Among all of them, Pelican Sanctuary stands out and, after staying for 2 nights, we immediately put them on the pedestal of the very best. The manager went an extra mile in her help rendered to us. When we checked in at about 5.30 pm, she was so thoughtful as brief us on the all travel information. We immediately felt a strong note of welcome. The Sanctuary has an unbeatable location in Bay of Fire that is close to everything while it has all the privacy and quietude. The decor of the house enchanted us at first sight. The bedroom is comfortable on a par with any plush hotels in the world, and the lounge is pleasing and we feel at home on the first step into it. The Sanctuary is manured with rapt attention to all minute details. The manager is working very hard to ensure everything is more than alright for us. We are so grateful for her kindness and generosity. Thanks Pelican, you have really made the day for us.

This accommodation is all about the habitat - the salt marsh! We extended our stay to four nights and enjoyed the walks, exquisite flora and birds and those sensational views from the bedrooms and lounge maximised by floor to ceiling windows! The accommodation was immaculately clean, well appointed and modern and the bed comfortable!

Situated within 87 acres of a beautiful natural environment by the shores of Georges Bay, this was a perfect place to relax for two nights and just enjoy the tranquility of the nature surrounding us. If you are a little bit into birds (like we are) you are well catered for, with binoculars and bird identification book provided. There is a bird hide down by the water’s edge, to view the numerous Black swans, White-faced herons and other aquatic birds, White-fronted chats breeding in the heath shrubs and Superb Fairy-wrens in the grasses. Then there are honeyeaters, wattle-birds, etc in the trees and shrubs around the grounds, the occasional raptor overhead, and add the soothing background sounds of frogs and cicadas. Just our idea of bliss! We stayed in Sandpiper apartment, which was modern, spacious, very well furnished and the kitchen well equipped for self catering. The owners live on the property and maintain it well, and are delightful to meet and talk to. We wish our stay at Pelican Point could have been longer.

Wow. An amazing property with wildlife to match. To be able to explore this property and enjoy all it has to offer from a modern and super comfortable accommodation was terrific after multiple Tassie properties.

So close to St Helens. A great place. Clean and tidy. Well maintained with all bases covered. The short walks so enjoyable. What really appealed were the many different varieties of birds everywhere.

Our one room stand alone unit was wonderful stop over for 2 nights: very quiet; roomy; sliding glass doors and windows everywhere - great views. Every aspect was modern and clean. The only strange aspect was the 'no shoes' policy when most of the floors were polished concrete - yes there were some mats also.

This was a real find and a disappointment on our part as we could have easily stayed here longer had we known how beautiful the place was. Views from the room were excellent. The fact that there were walking trails out to the water was a great way to relax upon arrival.
