Stayed for 1 night, in a 4 bedroom, 10 minutes drive from city center, rooms pretty nice, nothing special, friendly staff, expensive like everything else in Denmark. Nice local area around, free parking for car. bathrooms outdated, small rooms

The hostel was nice and calm. It also comes with a good parking possibility.
The room was really cozy and definitely felt above hostel standards. Be aware though that you need to bring your own bed linen.
The location is a bit out of the city. Walking to the center takes about 40-50 mins. But also take a bus (the bus station is around 8 mins walk from the hostel).

Our family stayed here in early March and couldn't have had a more magical experience! We loved the location, set back in the woods and an easy walk from multiple public transportation options, and were so pleased with the room as well. To top it off, the staff was so helpful and kind, going above and beyond to help us have a wonderful stay in town. While we wouldn't necessarily have a reason to visit Aarhus again in the future, we would seriously consider staying here again to relax and enjoy the stay at Danhostel Aarhus!

First of all if you book a hostel, you don't expect a lot, just a bed to sleep and a bathroom. The only things that make a hostel nice are the people. And that was totally not the case with the Danhostel outside of Aarhus. Before we were able to go to our rooms we got a lecture of everything we were not allowed to do. Like no own drinks and food, not just in the rooms but in the whole area of the hostel. We were a big group of students with our professors and wanted to have a picnic after the arrival. We were hardly allowed to put our luggage in the rooms with the "bad" food and drinks in hand. And she not just told us the rules she was just rude. On the first day you probably think okay everyone can have a bad day but it got not better. It was truly the worst hostel experience ever and I went to many hostels all over the world.

Smelled so bad when we first came in. To say it with very few words, it was the worst experience ever. Definitely not clean, there were stains on the pillows and duvets, and the place did not look like it had been cleaned. The price for the stay was at the lower end - but definitely NOT worth it.

Late check in after reception closing. Wrong key was put out to us. Woke another person in the assigned room. No visible code to contact the emergency reception. Had to drive 1,5 hours for other accommodation.
Refund of money went smoothly and sincere apology.
Hostel is likely better than the rating and of course we have to derate it due to wrong key incident.
