Very cozy resort hotel, clean and hygienic, especially the dinner at night tasted great. The location is the Val d'Orcia in Tuscany, very close to the surrounding medieval towns.

Very pleasant hotel tucked into a quiet corner of the Val dell’Orcia. Hosts went out of their way to provide assistance with itineraries, maps, and reservations. It’s obvious they genuinely care about the guest experience. Ample breakfast included. The restaurant is probably a bit overpriced and good enough, but not great. Enjoyable walk (but uphill) to Bagno Vignoni. Easy drive to San Quirico d’Orcia, Montalcino, Pienza, and Montepulciano. In general a quiet base to explore from.

I'm not one to write reviews, but I have to say how wonderful our experience was. As we pulled up Lucca came right out the door and greeted us by name and graciously welcomed us. He and Vincenzo carried our bags to our room and got us settled. They made sure that we had plans each day and were eager to guide us in the right direction. They often made reservations for us and steered us away from tourist traps. The atmosphere is cozy and special. Everything was beautiful and just what I envisioned a Tuscany retreat to be. Breakfast was delightful as was the dinner we had in the hotel one night. Service was perfect. The hotel is situated in a perfect location. Bagno Vignoni is an adorable little town just 3 minutes away. And it was so easy to get to Montepulciano, Pienza and San Quirco - all charming hill towns. Maurice was a wonderful host that took the time to explain the history of the building. We absolutely loved it here and thank everyone for taking such great care of us. Anne v.

The long-time staff (and newer staff, too, David) here are simply the most hospitable, kind people imaginable. They do everything to meet your every need. Which hilltop town do you want to visit? They will tell you the best place to park and their choice for restaurants, plus make a reservation for you, too. The restaurant is so wonderful that we don't think about going elsewhere for dinner. I love this place as a base for seeing Tuscany's hilltop towns.

The hotel is a great launching pad to explore Tuscany, but more than that it is a place to truly call home during your stay. We were warmly welcomed by Luca and Antonio upon arrival (got a bit lost but make sure to take the gravel road on the right just after turning off SR 2). The room had a king bed and was fine. The highlight was the staff including Rita and the owner (sorry forgot his name). All made you feel like home. Dinner here was the best dining experience in Tuscany, though we did have nice dinners in Bagno Vignioni). I can't emphasize enough how the staff make us feel like we were guests in their home.

Osteria Dell’Orcia is delightful! Our room was charming with pretty views of the countryside. But what makes this place special are the people who work here. When we arrived, the owner Sylvano and his staff were waiting outside to greet us. Our waiter/Sommelier, Antonio, totally took care of us, teaching us about Brunello wines, serving us a special t- bone steak, or whipping up an incredible dessert at dinner. Everyone was so kind and helpful! The gardens are beautiful and the pool is a nice respite after a day of touring Tuscany. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this wonderful place!

I have posted negative reviews, but rarely and only when I think it will keep someone else from being harmed. So if you are contemplating a stay at Osteria dell'Orcia, read this first. When it was time to book, the first call to the hotel was answer by Silvano the owner with a very cheerful “good morning.” So upbeat and cheerful that it felt like the soul of two millennia of that famous Italian hospitality was embodied in this man. A few logistical missteps on his part changed everything. It began when Silvano’s driver Francisco failed to show up at the airport in Rome to meet me and my elderly mother. I am sure there is a side to their story but I can’t imagine what it is. The pickup, flight information, hours, everything was clearly documented in email exchanges with both Silvano and directly with his driver. It probably had something to do with my afternoon flight being one hour late, information that was shared with them by email (twice) more than 6 hours before my scheduled arrival. Not to belabor this but when I called Silvano and inquired about where to find his driver, he went on a tirade that exhibited well known qualities of a clinically bipolar person. Not only did he not propose a solution but he told me not to come to his hotel and he made several more furious, mostly incoherent statements. We found lodging in Rome. I tried to call Silvano again to understand what had happened hoping that if there was a misunderstanding it could be smoothed over. He uttered something in Italian and then hung up on me. The next day I received an email from Francisco the driver who was supposed to meet me. It was a photograph of a menacing man who looked like Che Guevara showing his teeth. Underneath him was printed Sto Cazzo. Google translated that as F**k You. Be forewarned. You are dealing at this hotel was an unstable cast of characters. --, feel free to contact me here and I’ll be glad to share the entire email chain with you. In the meantime, why expose yourself to a wolf no matter how blithely he’s dressed in sheep’s clothing. The spa town has many other appealing hotel options.
