Amora Hotel Adelaide

Great location. Facilities are a bit old. Breakfast was pretty much the same for the whole week. But the value for money is okay. Overall, it's just so-so. If I come back next time, I might try a newer hotel.

For my 21-day trip to Australia, I stayed in 11 hotels, mainly across Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide. Here's my ranking of the hotels from best to worst in terms of overall experience, with value for money factored in: 1. Capella Sydney (Lower value for money) 2. Meriton Suites Waterloo, Sydney (High value for money) 10. Best Western Plus Travel Inn Hotel, Melbourne (Lower value for money) 11. The Hotel Windsor, Melbourne (Worst value for money) The Park Hyatt Melbourne stood out as having the best service among all 11 hotels. We arrived around 5:00 PM and were informed our room wasn't quite ready, requiring a 10-15 minute wait. Before I could even react, the front desk staff immediately offered complimentary breakfast for the next day as an apology, along with a voucher for two drinks at the lobby bar while we waited. Of course, we happily accepted! The hotel's location is a little outside the very center, situated behind Parliament House and right next to St. Patrick's Cathedral, which you can see from the rooms. Fitzroy Gardens, home to Cook's Cottage, is also within walking distance and worth a visit. I was very impressed with the hotel's amenities. The room even had a three-prong power outlet, a feature I didn't find in any other hotel. The 'old money' decor gave it a grounded and understated elegance. Breakfast was excellent and very extensive, with freshly made Western pastries that were incredibly delicious. I heard their flat white is even better than those from popular specialty coffee shops. The heated pool was long and narrow, feeling like it was definitely more than 25 meters. There's also a tennis court available for A$50 an hour, though you need to bring your own racket.

The hotel's location is excellent, very close to the nearby market and Chinatown. You can hop on the free tram right outside and reach all the indoor attractions. The *Malatang* (spicy hotpot) in Chinatown was particularly memorable!

The hotel management and layout are very similar to China's 'Ji Hotel' chain, which made for a great experience! I highly recommend staying here. Plus, it's near Chinatown, so there are tons of Chinese restaurants, making dining incredibly convenient.

Since I don't speak English, I accidentally started a movie while watching TV. I watched about 2 minutes of it and was charged AUD 35. The hotel facilities are good, but the breakfast area was too cold.
