Karma Minoan

We stayed in a one bedroom unit on the same level as the pool and reception. The unit had a large en-suite bathroom, there was a kettle, coffee machine, safe deposit box and small fridge provided. Plenty of hangers for clothes but only one drawer for other clothes so most stayed in suitcase. Apparently it Greek minimalist design. Off the lounge area there was a second small bathroom with shower and toilet etc. Two air con units provided cooling during the 40 degC heat. Anna in reception proving great hints for our trips in hire car to Kritsa, Toplou monastery, Spinalonga Island and to Agios Nikolais. All staff were friendly and helpful. The Greek night was great fun.

Whatever you are paying Stelios and George on the bar it isn’t enough! This was our second time back, having absolutely loved our first visit, but there seems to have been some staff changes that weren’t necessarily for the best. Whenever Stelios or George weren’t around, particularly in the evenings, we felt a little bit unwelcome. Also the guy staying down the road who was allowed to order pizza at the bar (we weren’t because it was a room service only item), use the pool and chuff cigarettes next to a member/sleeping guest and her baby was a bit off-putting and didn’t feel very exclusive/luxury. We also would have liked a kettle as the coffee machine isn’t much cop for a cup of tea. Other than that, it is a beautiful place, that you will want a hire scooter to see, or car if planning on going further. Thanks again to George and Stelios who made the experience great, plus Albert who was also very attentive and sweet.

The resort is every bit as beautiful as the pics. Warm friendly helpful & welcoming staff Lovely spacious, comfortable & very clean rooms. Good breakfast & very comfortable sleep. Lots of activities, never short of anything. We had won a voucher for 7days free accomodation at a Karma redort of our choice during our stay in Bali 2yrs ago. We needed to pay 100usd refundable to redeem the voucher. We were a bit skeptical at first but pursued it anyway. I am pleased to say that it was 100% honored refund & all. Thank you Karma group we loved our very memorable stay at Karma Minoan.

Very friendly staff in beautiful location if you like peacefully and scenic. Good bus service to Agios Nikolaos. Apartment was nice but would have benefited from a small kitchenette. Lots of sunbeds round the pool, which was small but nice. Small gym and weekly yoga class. Breakfast buffet good and reasonably priced

Boy, we really loved so many things about this place. The 3 stars is for the accommodations only. The unit needs serious work. The bathroom is so small, and have the look of poor construction and workmanship. The faux concrete look in the bathroom makes it just gross and was not good and looked terrible and dirty in our unit. I actually thought maybe our bathroom was being remodeled until I asked. I was told it's suppose to look this way. There were cracks in the ceiling, and there was poor patching fixes on the ceiling from previous cracks. The caulking job was awful around the toilet. The shower is so small and does not work and my guess is water is often hitting the ceiling or flooding out of the shower itself. The bathroom has no fan so when you close the door you're dripping sweat when you come out. We kept the door open to tolerate this better. The entire unit ended up smelling like whatever was happening in the bathroom. There is no lighting or mirror for to apply make-up or do your hair, I was not interested in spending more time than I needed to in the bathroom. There is no place to put your clothes in the unit itself other than a closet area or your suitcase. There is a little old looking white fridge sitting on the floor. The only furniture is that and a desk and chair (that scratches up the floor) everything else is built into the unit itself. Such as a bed platform and side tables. There is a lengthwise mirror on the wall, and a giant blue pot, that is there for cosmetic reasons only. These are not five star accommodations, not even close. It's a shame there is so much that is five star about Karma Minoan but the units themselves don't measure up. What is five star is the staff, Anna, Georgia, George, and housekeeping, They are so wonderful and make the resort what it is, and they go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need or want. Without them we would have moved to a hotel. The view is crazy good from every unit, and the pool looks very inviting. The grounds generally are wonderful. Most evenings we wanted to turn the air off and open the door and window and enjoy the ocean breeze. But, we could not do this because there are no screens. The restaurant was great, and we thought reasonable in price. The social happy hours were fun and made it so you talked to people when you ran into them around the resort. We had a great trip. But, the accommodations in the unit itself just did not measure up and I expected much better after reading all the five star reviews. There is no reason for Karma not to put into their units thoughtful, five star quality furniture, decoration, and workmanship.

Well presented place, nestled out of agios Nikolaos, the grounds up to reception are lovely , well maintained all over resort. In reception there are very knowledgeable staff , Anna and Georgia were are main two who we dealt with. They could tell you all you needed to know and do on the island , very helpful. We did not hire a car, the bus service , 5 min walk away was great . Hubby hire a quad for 2 days , so we went on adventures around the other side of the island . We also took some of the trips , spinalonga, safari to water fall, which took in olive oil factory, kritsa, and the oldest living olive tree about 3,000 yrs etc. The staff are all lovely , kind and courteous, the house keeping manager Anthi , and her team , could not do enough to make your room feel welcoming every day . The room consisted of sitting area , bedroom area with coffee machine and fridge , also mini bar, shower room and toilet. The food was delicious something for everyone , am gluten and lactose intolerant, and still lots to choose from. We had welcome night, acoustic afternoon, traditional Greek night that was fantastic, great fun was had by all. Cocktail evening. Thanks to the wonderful, humorous bar staff, stelios, sotiris , George and Georgia, they have kept us entertained for the last 2weeks . Lastly marina who has let us stay in our room as it was not needed and we have a late flight , there was a plan B if needed . Thank you all for a wonderful time and will definitely be back .
