The staff is very nice, polite and always with a smile 😃 😊 very welcoming indeed!
The breakfast is delicious and plenty of choice!! Better than some fancy hotels 😋 the place also has a big pool, and farm animals (fish and dogs) that can be visited. Pet friendly 🐕🐕

Casa de Santa Comba is absolutely lush. The staff are very relaxed and flexible, having to arrive late was no problem, and they were very accommodating of us at breakfast as were vegetarian and there aren’t many vegetarians in Portugal! They were also very accommodating when we requested a fridge for our wine. The building and surrounding estate is beautiful, with lots of animals around – geese, horses, dogs, swallows, fish in the ponds – and lots of lemon trees bursting with fruit and beautiful flower bushes everywhere. A dreamy place, would love to stay here again. Will miss the bright morning song of the canary in their office which you can hear from the breakfast room!

Να ξεκαθαρίσω από την αρχή ότι δεν κοιμηθήκαμε εδώ. Οι εντυπώσεις που μεταφέρω αφορούν αποκλειστικά τον τόπο, τις εγκαταστάσεις που είδαμε ως επισκέπτες και την αίσθηση που αποκομίσαμε από το πέρασμά μας. Ξεκινώντας, πρόκειται για παραδοσιακή αγροικία του 18ου αιώνα και βρίσκεται περίπου 5 χιλιόμετρα από την πόλη του Barcelos. Η κατοικία περιβάλλεται από μεγάλες ιδιόκτητες εκτάσεις, στις οποίες φιλοξενούνται αμπελώνες, ζώα, πουλερικά, στέρνες νερού για πότισμα των καλλιεργειών, στάβλοι με άλογα, λίμνες με πάπιες, αποθήκες προϊόντων, παρασκευαστήρια γαλακτοκομικών και κρασιού, λαχανόκηποι... Πρόκειται για μια ζωντανή παραδοσιακή αγροικία, η οποία μπορεί και λειτουργεί με μεγάλη αυτάρκεια. Οι μεγάλες γρανιτένιες κολόνες στο μπαλκόνι της εισόδου της κατοικίας είναι τυπικά αγροτικές, η κατοικία περιβάλλεται από καταπράσινους κήπους με λουλούδια και περιποιημένους θάμνους, συντριβάνια, κρήνες τρεχούμενου νερού, πισίνα, ενώ διαθέτει και ένα υπέροχο παρεκκλήσι. Τα δωμάτια που είδαμε ήταν πολύ ευρύχωρα, εξοπλισμένα με όλα τα απαραίτητα, χωρίς όμως πολυτέλεια όπως τη συνηθίζουμε σε σύγχρονα ξενοδοχεία. Πρόκειται απλώς για δωμάτια του σπιτιού τα οποία πλέον αξιοποιούνται ως χώροι τουριστικής φιλοξενίας. Το πρωινό προσφέρεται σε μια μεγάλη τραπεζαρία και είναι εμπλουτισμένο με τοπικά προϊόντα, πολλά των οποίων είναι παραγωγή των ιδιοκτητών. Η φιλοξενία τους ήταν εξαιρετική, γεμάτη ευγένεια και απροσποίητη διάθεση αυθεντικής διάθεσης εξυπηρέτησης. Να σημειώσουμε ότι το δικής τους παραγωγής κρασί, είναι υπέροχο και έχει μοναδικό χαρακτηριστικό πράσινο χρώμα! Θεωρώ πως η διαμονή εδώ προσφέρει μια εξαιρετική επιλογή για όποιον επιθυμεί κάτι πιο ήσυχο και παραδοσιακό, ενώ προσφέρεται ιδανικά και ως βάση των επισκέψεών σας σε όλη τη βόρεια Πορτογαλία.
