Fairmont Mara Safari Club

Pros: location is excellent, very nice amenities, food is very good, and game drives with Moseka were also good (despite not finding a male lion). I was injured during this trip and the nurse Betty took great care while redressing my wounds. All staff were very polite. The property itself is beautiful. Wake up service and morning coffee delivery was a very nice personal touch. View of mara river and hippos grunting away will never be forgotten. Cons: disorganised staff - they didn't know we were on our honeymoon trip despite telling them in advance. Phone did not work in the room and our room was in the far wing of the property. There were a lot of staff at the property who mentioned that they are assigned to us specifically but then we had to rely on the other staff. During checkout, they couldn't figure out we had prepaid in advance. They booked hot air balloon for us on the day of checkout only to then later rush us to pack in hurry when they could have simply told us to keep our luggage ready a day in advance.

Room 35 was the perfect vantage point, offering breathtaking views right from our luxurious tent. We spent our days watching hippos lounging and “singing” in the river, while the Mara River itself played host to crocodiles, baboons, impalas, and even local cattle wandering along its banks—a true African wildlife spectacle. The team at Fairmont Safari Club is exceptional—attentive, warm, and dedicated to making your stay unforgettable. From Caleb, who left fun notes and anecdotes while keeping our tent spotless, to Peter, who guided us through every dining experience with genuine care, their hospitality made us feel completely at home. A three-night, four-day stay is the perfect amount of time to experience the Big Five, and with a driver like Alfred, you’re in for an unparalleled safari. His deep knowledge, sharp instincts, and local connections not only ensured incredible wildlife sightings but also gave us the rare opportunity to meet the Maasai people and witness the sole two white rhinos in the Mara—a once-in-a-lifetime encounter! A huge shoutout to Brian, who liaised with us all the way from London to Kenya, ensuring a seamless experience, including organizing an unforgettable hot air balloon ride over the Mara—truly magical! We stayed here for only 2 nights and done 3 drives. Check in was swift and less than 15 minutes drive frim the airstrip. We had one of the deluxe rooms and Caleb was our room steward. The room was immaculate and caleb was very friendly and chatty and also got us a fan that we barely didn't need. Our room was about 10 minutes walk from reception but we could have phoned a cart. Our driver was Alfred and he was out this world. We seen everything we wanted to see and our drives were longer than expected. The breakfast at the hippo lake we will never forget. Alfred was very informative and easy to chat to. The walk.with the rhinos was again unbelievable and totally unexpected. Alfred your a star. The food was excellent but we thought the dinner was a bit below par for a 5 star hotel. The lunch though was excellent and we only had 1 breakfast but that was also good. All the staff were lovely and although we will probably never do another safari we would recommend this hotel.

What a very special place , the setting is incredible Hippos and Crocodiles float in the river in front of your tent that is glamping personified The excursions from the camp led by Dominic are what true adventure is about We saw so many different animals in there natural habitat Dominic being well versed in all the different animals we saw , from what they eat there gestation period hunting habits , eating habits an encyclopedia of information The staff want to ensure you have the best experience you can have , or meals are before dinner drinks where all served professionally and with a true smile A shout out to Moses and Griffin for making our dinning experience that much better Will I go back to Masa Mara Safari camp you bet ,

I can’t recommend this hotel enough, the rooms are stunning, grounds are beautiful, food is plentiful and delicious and experience was the best we have ever had. We loved spending time in the pool during the day, checking out all the hippos at hippo corner, the balloon ride, safari (seeing 4 out of 5 of the big 5 repeatedly) and visiting the Masai village. A magical experience that we will never forget!
