Amazing hotel, Very high standards of cleanliness. Very modern looking and truly a retreat from the city centre. Amazing views of the mountains and an amazing swimming pool area to relax in. The staff were so friendly and even prepared a candle lit dinner for us. Would definitely recommend it. Would suggest to book pickup through the hotel itself as taxi driver found it difficult to find the hotel as it was through muddy roads and charged us extra as he had to reroute.

I don’t usually write reviews, but I feel compelled to warn you: avoid Marrakech Retreat. This place is inaccessible, overpriced, unprofessional, and downright unwelcoming. Morocco has so many wonderful destinations—don’t waste your time here. The Arrival: Getting to this so-called “retreat” was a nightmare. Google Maps sent us the wrong way, leading us to almost crash on the precarious roads. Only later did we realize the caretaker had sent us the correct route, but without internet access, it was useless. When we finally arrived, we were met with a gated property surrounded by rubble—a strange sight for something marketed as a serene escape. The pool glimmered in the sunlight, and the Atlas Mountains loomed in the distance, giving us a glimmer of hope. But that quickly faded. First Impressions: The property felt more like a deserted house than a retreat. No reception, no guests, no staff—just an empty living room and an eerie silence. The caretaker greeted us kindly, offered tea, and asked us to wait for our room to be ready. To be fair, the room itself was clean and matched the photos. But that’s where the positives ended. The lack of staff, atmosphere, and overall hospitality made the entire experience unsettling—like camping in the empty mansion of a distant, indifferent relative. The Service: Once we settled by the pool, the lack of amenities became painfully obvious. We had to hunt down staff just to order drinks, which were overpriced (€5 for a beer). Hoping to avoid driving back out on the treacherous road at night, we asked if dinner was available. The answer was technically “yes,” but everything—from ordering to serving—was treated as a burden. Trying to order cocktails was comical. They didn’t have anything listed on the menu, and we felt like we were inconveniencing them for simply asking. Dinner, we were told, would not be ready until 7 p.m. So we waited. When the night caretaker arrived, things took a turn for the worse. He was rude, unhelpful, and seemed irritated by our presence. The drinks we were served were rusty (!), and when we asked for a replacement, he begrudgingly obliged, after tasting it himself and shrugging dismissively. It only got worse from there. The Dinner Disaster: At 8 p.m., the first course arrived—it was cold, mediocre, and served outside in the freezing November air because the heaters couldn’t be turned on (or so we were told). My girlfriend didn’t finish her plate, and the caretaker rudely scolded her, saying, “Here in Morocco, we eat everything on our plates.” Completely uncalled for. The main course was worse: dry, tasteless, and barely edible. Meanwhile, stray cats circled us constantly, making it impossible to eat in peace. We skipped dessert entirely, just wanting to retreat to our room to escape the bizarre and uncomfortable atmosphere. The Final Straw: After a sleepless night in this creepy, isolated “retreat,” we decided to leave at first light. Breakfast was surprisingly decent, though m

Nice place. Unfortunately the guest experience is terrible. With a manager who really couldn’t care less. I hope whoever owns this place sees he lost a potentially repeat client. But you can’t lie to guests and think it will go unnoticed. Never will I come here again until guests time and money and vacation are actually valued. Poor!

Beautiful retreat, it's a bit in the middle of nowhere, but that's what you should expect from a retreat. It's a 30 minute drive into Marrakech, but the peace and tranquility the location offers is priceless. We had a beautiful, spacious room with everything we needed. Staff are helpful and thoughtful, the manager, Abdul, is a gracious, welcoming host. I hope to return one day, to enjoy this oasis in Marrakech!

It's a beautiful hotel which is very clean. Staff are very friendly & go out of their way to make the stay enjoyable - especially Salah & Abdou, in our case. They did a fantastic job organising our daughters 18th birthday. Petals were laid on her bed while we were out exploring. They decorated the poolside with banners & balloons and set a beautiful candlelit table. They made a vegan chocolate cake as my husband has a dairy allergy. The cake was brought in to the music of Happy Birthday Cha Cha Cha!!! However, the road to the hotel is very rugged & gravelly. There is no street lighting to the hotel, which makes driving difficult at night time. Also, the meal on our second night was a bit disappointing. The chicken kebabs were tastless. Having said this, I would definitely go back to the hotel again for the pampering, which is just what we needed. Thank you, Salah, Abdou & Zora.

My partner and I booked this stay for 4 nights, the overall experience was poor to say the least but the average review is more for the landscape and food than anything else. If I saw an honest review on this place I probably wouldn't have booked. To give you and others fair warning here are a few flags to assure before booking; They charge in Euro's as their main market is French/European tourists, this makes everything severely overpriced. I suggest paying strictly in Moroccan dirhams unless you have the 1000's to spare. A single meal would cost you about 18-20 euros (roughly 200 dirhams) per person (excluding drinks and starters) where local restaurants for a three course meal would be 30 sometimes even less at the right place. We paid in cash as we were told there were no card machines YET when we left a visible working card machine in a corner. It is VERY isolated, suited for those who would want complete cut off from the city, restaurants etc. It is literally placed in the outskirts of a village that barely have roofs over their head. There are no uber or taxi app services that run in this area so a taxi would have to be booked directly from the hotel costing you about 30 euros (300 dirhams) EACH way - to the city and back. Make sure you buy a ready to go Sim from Orange when you land and not after, it's also much cheaper to buy online than in the country. The deals you see for the 'view' and 'luxury' is a mask. The only service that was wonderful were the housekeeping staff and night host, they were kind. We came for the culture and experience but it seemed to be placed like a rehab resort in another country. The colonisation is real. Honestly wish it was vetted properly in the reviews.

A éviter absolumment.
