When we arrived we almost drove past as the signage is a bit dated which had me worried about the quality of the room. I was mistaken. This motel is very well maintained and our room as well as the laundry room were spotless. The owners take great pride in making sure that we were looked after. My only complaint is that the bed was very firm, other than that we were very happy with our stay.

Just spent four days at the Jacques Cartier Motel. The owners done so much renovation on the room. So beautiful. The owners go above and beyond. They made us very comfortable. This is the third time we have stayed there. When we go and see family in Cape Breton this is where we stay. 5 star for us for sure. Gloria and Stan W.

We have stayed at this Motel two or three times in the past. The owners were so nice. Were planning on going to Sydney Nova Scotia this summer and we will be staying at this Motel for sure. We stayed at many but this was the best. Looking forward going there again this year.

Without question this is the best motel we have ever been to! SO clean and neat. Newly renovated and each room is modern and unique. The beds were comfy and great WI-FI reception. The motel proprietors were very kind, thoughtful and accommodating and they provided plenty of activities for our children. We highly recommend this motel and would certainly return.

Myself my wife son and granddaughter and our two yorkies,all stayed in a kitchenette room for two plus weeks,our experience was absolutely wonderful.The rooms were always cleaned and the hospitality of the owners was off the charts whatever we needed they always provided it for us,if we went out for dinner and had to leave the dogs that was also no problem.When we return to cape Breton, we will definitely be goin to be staying here again

Clean room and friendly owners. A great place to use as a base for local activities and not too far from others. Very affordable compared to the hotels (travel on a budget). Cross ventilation with the open windows so the room was cool at night. They had places outdoors (with cover) for my husband to go smoke. We had a kitchenette in our room so that we didn’t have to eat out all the time. (They even had a barbecue outside.) We spoke with the owners every day and they always asked to make sure we had everything we needed. Large greenspace in the common area outdoors and seating in the trees. Great for relaxing with a morning coffee and reading a book while my husband wandered and visited local friends. We booked directly by calling the motel (not a 3rd party website) and had no problems whatsoever. The place is also pet friendly (customers in other rooms had their dogs with them). Laundry facilities available as well.

We were on a month long driving road trip from Ontario to Newfoundland and back again. We have stayed in hotels, motels and B&B’s. This motel is, by far, the nicest motel we have ever stayed in. We had a kitchenette in our spacious room, queen bed, and lots of room to unpack and store our stuff for our 5-night stay. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the whole place is extraordinarily clean. They clean the rooms and bathrooms every day, which we have not normally experienced. The 2 owners are so friendly and gave us everything we needed during our stay. Outside, there’s a gazebo, BBQ a and chairs. Reliable internet too! I can’t say enough about this place, except that we will return here again when we return from Newfoundland.!

Andre and Larysa were welcoming hosts. They ensured we had what we needed and put us in side by side rooms. The rooms and property are immaculate and our kitchenette was well equipped. Great location being close to the airport. We had an RV and they helped us to park it out of the way for the night as we did rent a room.
