Quinta Pedra Dos Bicos

Lovely clean spacious 2 bedroom apartment close to all amenities and beach only down side was the beds very uncomfortable and one of the bedrooms had no mirror. Also we were on an early flight and when we arrived we couldn't go in the apartment until after 4pm .

Large apartment complex quite near the bottom of the *****. We were a party of 18 there for a hen do. The four oldest in the party (early 60’s) were put in an apartment up one flight of stairs with no lift and no staff to help us up stairs. The apartment was clean but so small compared to the rooms the other members our party they were in. The sitting room/dining room was very small and dingy and needed the light on whatever time of day you sat in it. The staff in reception were not the most accommodating. Very patronising when asking any questions. Defo not top of my list if I return to Albufeira 😟

Stayed here many times as it is in a good location ,staff did their best to accommodate my room preferences.Would prefer cleaning staff to come earlier in the afternoon instead of around 5pm.Reception area in hotel has been revamped which isn't an improvement it has lost its airy comfortable feel.

It’s a fun place lots of people to talk to and the beach is great . The staff is attentive and the apartments are good for the price. We will come again. There are so many great places to visit near the hotel and restaurants within walking distance.

We were a group of 17, all families and had booked 5 apartments. Apartments were decent quality with good range of amenities. Pool facilities were very good. Biggest issue was security. Each apartment had something go missing over our 11 day stay. Worst was my son's apartment, his wallet was taken from his room with over €200 cash and his bank card in it on the 3rd day. The cleaners came to his door and told him he had to go to reception to get it. This was before 9am and he didn't know it was missing. It was in his room when he went to bed. Strange thing was that the room he was in wasn't in his name as he'd swopped rooms with his granny. But they apparently knew where to find him. No surprise when he got to reception that the cash was long gone. Reception and duty manager were of no use and kept telling him to come back at different times to see the general manager. Really impacted on our holiday and left us very wary about the staff having access to rooms. We were leaving early on the last day and tried to get deposit back the night before. 2 groups got theirs while the rest of us were told to come back the next morning and there would definitely be staff on duty. Guess what, no staff and we left without our deposits. They have tried to make contact since looking for our bank details to refund but to be honest we were all to wary of thrm to risk it. The complex was fine but this overshadowed our holiday and we wouldn't go back because of the attitude of the manager

Excelent place and location, even in low season, have a lot of nearby places to get your food and late night coffee and drinks, even several Karaoke places. Parking on location is a real plus and access to the beach is quite easy

I went for a few nights for a lads holiday and was fine. However, despite leaving the room spotless, we still have not received our deposit back after numerous emails to them. If they can genuinely give me a reason as to why we don't deserve our deposit back then i'd respect it, but i'm very disappointed and I would look out for this sham if anyone wishes to go there in future...

The location of this site was fabulous. The beach, shops and various cuisine eateries were close by. Excursions were relatively well priced. Eating out tended to be pricey in some places but we were a family of 5. Level of cleanliness across the site was high, apartment was a good size and the pool area well kept. Staff and locals were very pleasant. Reported a missing shower screen in the en-suite bathroom since the floor and toilet kept getting wet. Also requested replacement batteries for a hotel device but neither were resolved. Some towels were drying on the balcony which the cleaners missed and didn’t swap out. These were relatively minor issues hence the positive feedback. Overall a very nice get away and I would consider going back

I know the area very well and the location was where we wanted to be. I had looked along to the hotel on many occasions and saw the sign on the front "Hotel Pedra Dos Bicos". When we booked for an apartment, nothing was flagged up to say the apartments were not part of the hotel building, we assumed they were. Had we known, we would probably have used the Oura Praia. On booking sites I had seen Aqua Pedra Dos Bicos and assumed it was a seperate location. We were not made aware if we could use the hotel facilities, such as the bar or restaurant, so we assumed we couldn't. However the apartments are, although pretty basic, adequate. BUT - over Christmas the living area in the apartments are cold! We had to ask several times for a small heater for the living room and eventually were given one. Then the problems started. When the heater was in use and you tried to boil a kettle, the electricity in the apartment tripped. The hotel staff were very helpful as far as they could, unlike the hotel manager who hasn't a clue about customer relations. Eventually with the electricity tripping even when the kitchen area was not being used, we packed our cases went to reception and demanded a change of room. After a lot of argueing, another apartment was given in the same block as the original one. You've guessed it - the electricity continued to trip when the heater was in use. I tried to explain that the circuit breaker in use was too small, but we were told by the head of housekeeping that this is common all over Portugal - you have to switch some appliances off if you want to use a heater, or a kettle or a hair drier. On about our 4th day an electrician appeared at the apartment door, inspected the fuse box and confirmed that a higher circuit breaker was required! He fitted one, and we had no further problems. My belief is that the circuit breakers are set low to ensure that as little electricity as possible is used, to save costs. In the summer it is not an issue as a heater would not be required, so the story that it is the same all over Portugal was untrue! There was no sign of the return of our deposit when we left as the reception had just opened - I wonder if it will ever be returned? So next time, if there is one, we will use the main hotel, or one elsewhere as the staff for the apartments are in need of a lot of training in customer relations and facility knowledge. I can't comment on the Aqua Hotel, but the apartments are probably only worth 2 stars on a good day If you're booking here, be aware of what you're booking into and keep the time of year in mind.
