A Nightmare Stay – Completely Disappointing I booked this hotel in Almaty based on its high ratings and convenient location near Arbat Street, expecting a pleasant stay. Unfortunately, what I experienced was far from acceptable, and I feel compelled to share it. From the moment I arrived, there was no sense of welcome or acknowledgment from the staff — as if guests were an inconvenience rather than customers. Upon entering the room, I was shocked by how outdated and poorly furnished it was. Instead of a proper living room with a comfortable sofa, there was simply a spare bed placed awkwardly in front of the TV — absolutely no thought put into comfort or design. In the middle of a hot summer day, I found the fridge not working. After repeated calls, they finally sent a technician late at night who began repairing it inside my room — disturbing my rest and invading my privacy. There was no apology, no concern, just indifference. To make things worse, the fridge broke down again the very next morning. By then, I had lost all confidence in the service and simply gave up. Breakfast was equally disappointing — not only in quality but in the effort it takes to reach the dining area. You must exit the main building, go around the back, climb stairs, and walk a fair distance, only to find an uninspiring and minimal selection. Not worth the hassle. The final straw was at checkout. I was told to wait while they “checked” the room and minibar, only to be falsely accused of consuming items from a minibar that was never functioning. When I objected, the staff simply said, “It’s fine, just go.” No apology. No professionalism. This hotel is a complete misrepresentation of what it claims to be. If you value respect, comfort, and basic hospitality — look elsewhere.

It is a shame that the hotel service was excellent until my last day. I explain. I found out that I had mistakenly booked one less night at the hotel when I received this WhatsApp text message from the hotel "Good afternoon! I'm calling from the Almaty Hotel. We would like to clarify about your check-out! Your room is booked until 25.11.2025 until 12:00. I want to inform you that if you don't contact us by 14:00, we will be forced to collect your belongings and remove them from your room. We will store them at the reception. Please let us know if you plan to extend your stay or check out." The tone of the message was rude and unprofessional. Worse, when my partner called the hotel and spoke to them in Russian, the receptionist on duty at 12.15PM local time on 25 November 2025 rushed us to come to the hotel to make payment before 1PM. The receptionist on duty refused to allow me to pay by Trip.com or pay later - we were forced to abandon our plans and rush back to the hotel to make payment. Granted, the mistake was mine. But that is not how a hotel guest should be treated. This would be my first and last time staying at this hotel.

Compliments to Kamila at the Front Desk! She really accommodated me during my stay. She helped me book my Yandex. The room was pretty nice, the place is conveniently located to restaurants and major sites. Moreover, too my pleasant surpise, I got a cake and wine in my room during my birthday!

One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at so far! I arrived at the hotel around 5 AM, and fortunately (thank you for the receptionist who attended me), they had a room available for early check-in (for half the price). The view was absolutely amazing, and the room was well-equipped with a mini-fridge, TV, hair dryer, disposable slippers, bathrobe, towels, and complimentary coffee, tea, and water. The breakfast? I highly recommend booking a room with breakfast included! It’s a buffet with an extensive selection—mains, soups, and desserts change daily. They also have pies, cheeses, breads, cereals, and so much more. I didn’t even recognize some of the dishes and didn’t get to try everything, but everything I did taste was absolutely delicious. The location is also excellent, with bus stations and the subway just a short walk away. I was able to walk to several tourist spots like Panfilov Park, Green Bazaar, and many more. One of the best features of the hotel is the keycard system — you can only access your assigned floor and the first floor, where the reception is located (from there, you can easily walk to the breakfast and spa areas)
