Staying at Holmen Husky is an experience far away from staying at an ordinary hotel. We want our guests to get closer to nature and to get a taste of what it is like to live close to the elements. Holmen Husky is a small, family-run business who has been working with dogs since the 80s. Some of us have even grown up in the dogyard and on the sled. It is much more than an activity or an experience that has got us all addicted. it’s a feeling that must be experienced. Now we wish to let our guests get a taste of what we fell in love with. Really fabulous experience, a well organised, well run establishment, approachable knowledgeable guides with a wealth of information about their sport, their history and, most of all, their dogs whom they knew individually, by name with all their personalities and idiosyncracies. The dogs were all friendly, well cared for and much loved, happy to pull us through a beautiful wooded trail with their 'musher' guiding the sled and explaining the commands he uses and the mechanics of the sled. A thoroughly enjoyable few hours, a lot of fun and great memories. We were lucky enough to be in Alta for the start of the 'Finnmark' sled race, many congratulations to Brage Nilsen Jaeger on a great result.

Got the husky tour from my girlfriend for my birthday. We went on the 25th of February. What an awesome experience! Great staff, beautiful dogs and very keen to work but well behaved! We had good weather so it made the experience 100% perfect. 10.5km tour with a driver change at the halfway point. After the tour lots of time to cuddle with the dogs, got a small snack and thea/coffee to warm up whilst getting to know more about the company and dogs. After that some more cuddling with the dogs and before we knew our time was up so we had to change clothing and said goodbye! I recommend this to everyone who wants to do a husky sled tour! Thanks for having us and we enjoyed our time there!

If you are in Alta this is a must do- it is also a great reason to travel to Alta in the first place. We were travelling with our nephew, so we reserved the dome, and he stayed in a lavuu (teepee). We started the day with the 1:00 pm sled dog experience. We got a quick class in how to manage the sled and dogs and we were off. Two people on a sled- one driving and one sitting. Halfway through we switched drive/rider. The location was beautiful, and the experience was a blast! Holmem provided us with snow suits, boots, gloves and hats. After we finished, we had some time in a large lavuu to warm up with hot drinks and a wonderful fire. we spent some time with the dogs- but the puppies were the highlight. As we were playing with the puppies the Northern Lights came out right above us. It was beautiful. Then we were off to check in. The lavuu for our nephew was adorable. The pellet heater kept the space warm and toasty, and the bed was very comfy. There is not bathroom in the lavuu so you would need to walk to the shared restroom- which was clean and warm. The dome for us was way more than expected!! We had our own large bathroom with shower and a private sauna!!! This is in a wood structure attached to the dome. When you enter the dome itself it was like being in a snow globe! The bed was large and cozy. The pellet heater kept the room warm and comfortable. The clear side and "ceiling" allowed us to see the northern lights and the nighttime sled dog rides coming in. Our only issue was we did not fill up the pellet heater all the way before we went to bed- so the furnace went out about 3:00 am. So- learn from our mistake :) Breakfast was served in morning, and we were able to walk around the property and play with the dogs some more. Truly a highlight of the trip!! Everyone we met was wonderful and very helpful.

We have been to Alaska in the summer and spent time with Alaskan Husk8es, so to get the chsnce to sledge with them in Noreay was a must. This was the best excusrion we have ever had. The inspirational story of the Lodges owner is fantastic and quite emotional. To walk, interact and ride with these amazing, lovimg and hard working animals was breathtaking. We had a sled ride for about 5km (thier training run), then cuddles... a sit in a traditional tee pee with roaring fire, and tea, then a 15minute film about the owner and his story.. we will be back.. absolutley first class.

Wonderful experience staying in a (unexpectedly) warm lavvo surrounded by a 100 friendly huskies. We had a good night’s sleep and everything was great. We also did a husky sled that was really nice. The staff here is very nice and you can tell they love what they do.

It’s impossible to communicate in a review just how much fun this place is. We went only for dogsledding but you can also stay there in cabins. First we watched a film about the owner and his family who are champion competitive mushers. Then we got on our sleds for the sweetest and at the same time most insane ride through the woods. It was SO MUCH FUN. After that a snack and hot drink in front in a warm fire in a lavvu. Then we got to go and meet and play with the dogs. The whole experience was wonderful. Everyone who worker ther was great, especially our musher, Peter, from Denmark. If you have the opportunity, don’t miss this
