The hotel was okay to stay in but way too overpriced especially because they’re not really a five star hotel in my opinion. Simple amenities such as shampoo, bathrobes, slippers and lotion are not provided for a five star hotel. I didn’t get help from the Porter to take my bags etc. I like that it’s all inclusive and it’s so convenient to eat at the hotel however the food could have been fresher. The pools were amazing and the hotel is very close to the beach which is good. Getting around is a headache unless you hire a car, it would take me forever to get an Uber. Not the hotels fault obviously but just something to note. The hotel is so huge that the shared lift would take forever and unfortunately can’t choose which one to take as the lift chooses the floor automatically . While it was a good stay I don’t know if I would stay here again because of my expectations of an all inclusive 5star hotel. Also make sure to go watch the sunset by the beach, absolutely breathtaking.

Honest Review of Our Stay We arrived on 28th September at 13:15, but our room wasn’t ready until 15:45. While waiting, we tried to book meals at the à la carte restaurants, but could only get into Luigi twice. Surf & Turf (Fuego) was already fully booked, which was disappointing , especially as the delay in getting our room meant others got in ahead of us. Room: The room itself was nice, clean, and spacious. It did lack a hairdryer and the remote for the air con on arrival, but once we called reception at 19:22, both were brought up very quickly, which was good service. The minibar is extremely poor for a supposed 5★ hotel, just two kids’ fruit juice cartons and a bottle of water. Special mention to the housekeeper for room 326, who was amazing. The room was cleaned with great care, and she was truly exceptional. Facilities & Pools: There’s a gated kids’ pool area with what looks like a fun little water park (I’d say best for under 6s). The adults’ pool has trees overhanging and even a cart with wine where you can help yourself, which was a nice touch. There’s also a mini golf course, football pitch, and paddle/tennis courts. The pools, however, are very cold. The towel exchange doesn’t open until 10:30, which isn’t very convenient. Food & Restaurants: The buffet was actually pretty good, in fact, better than the Italian and by far better than Fuego. Unfortunately, Fuego (the Surf & Turf restaurant) was dreadful, honestly the worst meal I’ve ever had. A supposed medium well-done steak came out looking raw, and the shrimp that should have accompanied it looked like it had been cooked the day before, truly awful. The starters were no better: a cod bite that was stone cold, mussels that were dried up, and a sea bass fillet that was tiny and sat on a bed of dried, clumpy mashed potato. Even dessert was a let-down: the chocolate cake was supposed to come with ice cream but instead arrived with desiccated coconut sprinkled on top and no ice cream at all. The staff weren’t much better either, except for one young Black waiter, who was very pleasant. Later in the week, Fuego had to be closed altogether due to a smell problem in the hotel, so we couldn’t even have tried again if we’d wanted to. To make matters worse, when we cancelled our reservation at Luigi, staff suddenly asked if we wanted to rebook Fuego, the very restaurant we had been told was fully booked on the day we arrived. We honestly wished we hadn’t bothered. Bars & Drinks: The bar staff are generally nice and pleasant, but they really can’t mix drinks. The cocktails are dreadful, just syrup, ice, and cheap alcohol. The non-alcoholic versions are equally bad. Even the basics weren’t reliable: on Monday, during a tribute night in the Bubble Bar, they had no gin, and by 23:30 there was no vodka, despite the bar being advertised as open until midnight. The Coral Bar should serve until 23:00 but staff were reluctant to serve from about 22:30 onwards. A note on service in the Bubble Ba

We arrived late due to delay with airline and they had put a couple of plates of food in the room for us without us even asking. Everything was amazing the staff couldn’t do enough for you. After reading some reviews prior to booking I would advise anyone to go as you couldn’t ask for anything better if you are wanting a relaxing holiday near the beach in the sun ☀️

Hotel is lovely and clean. Food varied, we could always find something to eat. Adult pool is lovely but shaded till at least midday. Should be better monitored so children do not use. Biggest disappointment is the night time entertainment it’s absolutely dire! So poor. Bubbles bar is supposedly adults only, firstly the entertainment is mediocre at best and the bar staffing is equally as bad. Not staffed adequately in October so god help you in July/august!

Lovely hotel. Very clean. Friendly staff ( which is always a bonus) Food is very nice. Not a huge variety but always something to please. Main Pool is lovely and never had any issue getting a sunbed . We would have no Hesitation in returning. The boardwalk makes for a great walk and Alvor is very beautiful

Well as the saying goes “don’t listen to everything you read” & thankfully I didn’t . I am just back from a fabulous 5 night stay in the Pestana Blue Alvor. This is a very well run hotel & the staff are fantastic, so friendly & helpful. The selection of food was super, we chose to eat out in the town of Alvor at night as that’s what we like to do but breakfast, lunch , snack bar have a plentiful selection. And there is 3 restaurants you can book on arrival, other people we met said they were great. You could drink to your hearts content & it was the proper brands we are used to not local spirits. The lifts that I read people moaned about ? It was simple, you put the number of your floor into the keypad & scan your room card & the lift would take you there , how hard is that ? Rooms were cleaned everyday & were spotless , again people marked them down , absolute rubbish. We had a spacious room with sea views, it was fabulous. Bubbles Bar was great, it opened at 6pm till late ( people moaned it should be opened earlier? ) Why ? You walk downstairs & can drink the bar if you want. There was entertainment there every night. The pool was amazing , loads of beds & umbrellas . Maybe it’s not 5 star as we know it but it’s a very welcoming hotel & I thought it was value for money. I can’t vouch for high season which I would never go at that time but I was delighted with my stay

I have read some strange reviews of this hotel, we have done so many in algarve over 25 years, this is the best organised hotel for cleanliness, lovely rooms, we have been to. Yes don’t go if your a Cple in July or August but mid September is fantastic, we are still here it’s 1st October, no queuing for food no children screaming, no loudness in corridors on a night, so yes adults can come here when children not on holiday, as I’m told it was very busy, but expected. I read some bad reports re food, breakfast is fine, for lunch and dinner we have had fresh salmon and tuna steaks, pork, chicken, all the usual, with lots of salads chips, lovely baked bread. In 14 days we have always found something to eat, wine is not on tap, it’s in an ice bucket where you help yourself from bottle, never once saw this abused. We have come back every day around 5 ish to room made up, so overall I think this hotel is a good choice, just pick your dates if no children, the pool is beautiful, bit cold .

Our stay started at arrival , we arrived around 10.30 and received a glass of prosecco and given our room keys. I had asked that our 2 rooms would be close together and we where blown away at the two rooms we received. Side by side with the sea view and one of the rooms opening out to the beautiful alvor beach and with the elevation of the hotel frames the shore so beautifully. I was so excited I hardly slept and woke with the sea at my toes. Down for Breakfast and what a beautiful display of food . Breakfast, brunch and lunch a real testament to the hotel is the flavor and simplicity of the food allowing the ingredients to speak for themselves. The grounds are immaculate the hotel spotless. And the second pool which is for adults, has a little bike display with all the bubbly you can think of white rose and prosecco. The beach is just down a lovely winding path. The beach and sea amazing. Alvour town has an untouched feel to it which we loved also. Claire and myself felt totally at home and where felt like the a king and queen of alvor even though the spa wasn't open yet we felt like we are so chilled going home that this is THE best hotel stay and holiday we have ever had, thank you from the bottom of our hearts thank you to all the staff and the manager for a tight run ship ❤️ We are planning our next trip to this hotel and hopefully get the same beautiful rooms again
