We stayed here from December 19-21, 2023. This is a beautiful hotel, well, really a castle! The grounds are very nice and there is even a Michelin rated restaurant located on the grounds. The rooms are big and well appointed. The staff are very helpful and friendly. This location is great as a base while exploring the nearby castles and chateaus, of which there are many. There is parking on the grounds, and also nearby places to dine and drink. One of the more unique locations we have stayed on our journeys.

The hotel is relatively remote. I booked a room for four people. There were two beds upstairs, but the ventilation was poor.

Decided to stay in a chateau, this looked nice, felt pampered and has a lovely pool. This was a 8 minute taxi from the train station, we did walk to Amboise one day (and taxi back that night). Reception was very helpful, staff lovely, hotel was quiet and clean, breakfast buffet average, rooms beautiful but air conditioning could use a boost. We didn't eat in their restaurant, but lots of options in Amboise, again a 12 euro taxi away or a walk.

The chateaux is amazing, the staff are very nice. Breakfast is good. The pool was amazing. The bed and room were extremely comfortable and we slept with the window open for a cool breeze all the way till morning.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Château de Pray, a peaceful and charming 800-year-old manor house just on the outskirts of Amboise, in the heart of the Loire Valley. The property beautifully maintains the character and authentic furnishings of the original manor while offering modern comforts. The grounds are lovely, with terraced gardens that lead down to a secluded swimming pool—we didn’t have time to enjoy it, but it looked like a perfect spot to relax. Our breakfast was full and delicious, served in a beautiful dining room with views over the gardens. Although we didn’t have the opportunity to dine at the on-site Michelin-starred restaurant, it’s a wonderful option for guests looking for a gourmet experience. The staff were exceptionally kind and attentive, even going out of their way to initiate the return of an iPad I had accidentally left behind. Château de Pray offers a welcome retreat from the bustle of nearby Amboise while still being just a short drive away. A lovely and tranquil place to stay in the Loire Valley.
