We travelled here with some family friends and we enjoyed two wonderful days and nights with Tortilis. Zed, Graham and Candy welcomed us on arrival and Chris looked after us at meal times. Solomon was our guide, we loved his company and he was very patient with the young kids in our group. The food was tasty and colorful and the kids loved the afternoon tea and cake options and the pancakes at breakfast. Stunning views here of Kilimanjaro - if you lived there, it certainly wouldn't get old waking up to a majestic view like that. We really appreciated the surprise bush breakfast under the Tortilis tree, just outside the park. Many thanks to this camp for hosting us so well.

Arriving at lunchtime, the greeting was lovely and we were immediately impressed with the service and facilities. Over the next two hours, my wife became more and more unwell and at 3 pm I needed to contact reception for medical assistance. By 4 pm, they had sent a car to collect a local medic and she started to make her assessment of the situation. The condition of my wife was very serious and she had a temperature in excess of 40 degrees C and was losing fluids from every possible direction. Jade, the medic, set up a drip and delivered outstanding medical attention. Grahame and his team were on constant call and could not do enough for us. After many trips to reception, the staff all knew me by name and were asking after her. They even kept the kitchen open for me to eat something. The final act of kindness was to assist me to pay the bill, and repay on my checkout as I did not have sufficient $USD. The next day, my wife had recovered enough to have a light lunch and join the final game drive. Despite the trauma and stress, this was one of the most beautiful places that I have ever visited and the service was well beyond expectations when it really counted. A massive thank you 🙏 I have absolutely no hesitation to recommend.

We stayed at Tortilis Camp in February and .....it was AMAZING !!! We spent 2 nights in the Family Tent (which included our own pool) - the rooms were simply excellent and immaculately clean. Great touches including water coolers in each room. The views of Kilimanjaro from the tents were just incredible. We had a great guide during our stay and loved the bush breakfast that was arranged - this is a must for anyone going. We expected a simple breakfast - not the champagne/orange juice and omelette station that was set up for us in the middle of the park. Just incredible. All the staff were excellent and our hosts (Graeme and Candy) were amazing. Thank you.

We had a lovely time, the camp was very nice, great staff. Would have like to have more choices of food for the children but it was fine. There weren't as many elephants as we thought would be in Amboseli, we saw more in the Triangle of the Masai Mara. Still, a nice camp, would stay again. Thank you-

Elewana Tortilis camp and Amboseli was the second stop on our safari and where my partner and I decided to elope! We were immediately greeted with refreshing towels and a delicious welcome drink. Candy, Graeme, and Bob were there to greet us and were very accommodating to our elopement requests which we are very grateful for! Prior to arrival I had reached out to Elewana regarding our elopement and they were more than happy to make exceptions for our stay, thank you so much for indulging our request! Our tent was spacious and well furnished, we were very happy to be able to open both suitcases without trouble! Brushing water is provided as well as drinking water. We also made use of the monkey/baboon trunk where we placed our medication and some snacks. We loved the charging stations by the bed! Fans were also provided but we didn't feel the need to use them during the time we went but most (welcome) surprising of all, a hair dryer in the bathroom! We had an issue with our toilet one night but the staff got right on it and fixed it immediately. The view from the dining area and bar is incredible! It was extremely lush during the time we went and the greenery was not something we expected but was a stunning surprise. The food was delicious and we enjoyed the "Taste of Africa" every night. We also loved the wakeup coffee + cookies and I also looked forward to the afternoon tea cake that changed daily. The service here was exceptional and provided a very intimate and high-end experience. The bush breakfast the perfect way to relax and enjoy the beautiful Mount Kilimanjaro. Complete with a full delicious breakfast set up, hand washing station, omelette chef, and we enjoyed seeing our server Chris as well. Our driver, John was informative, a great driver, and very understanding of what kind of location we wanted for our simple ceremony, we were able to scout out some potential locations and he also showed us where the sundowner would take place. He was patient while we took photos and while friendly, was not intrusive. After our ceremony we headed to the sundowner where we saw our server Chris there with a table of snacks and drinks. The view atop of the hill during sunset was spectacular. Chris took care of our party of 4 during our time there and he was attentive and professional! While we were enjoying our snacks, a group of Masai appeared suddenly and performed a wonderful dance in which we participated in! We want to give tremendous thanks to the camp team for providing us with this incredible surprise as well as the congratulatory champagne that awaited us in our room! The entire stay felt so personable from the handwritten notes in the tent to the acknowledgment of our elopement. We are so glad that we chose to elope here and we will never forget our time at Elewana Tortilis Camp! Thank you again!

Tortilis Camp was the first stop on our Kenya safari. On our game drive / transfer from the air*****, our driver got stuck in the mud, which took some time to clear, and we arrived in the camp only late after dark. The management and its team at arrival made an extra effort to make us feel comfortable, and settle into the Private House, which was much appreciated. The Private House is a 2-bed-/bathroom house with a central lounge, which is very nicely laid out and decorated indeed. It has beautiful views over the plain and to the mountain. It is very generously sized, spotless clean with a shower sized to dance in, and perfect for a family or small group travelling together. Game drives were perfectly organized with a competent guide. The bush breakfast was exceptional, as was the hilltop sundowner, to a level not seen again in other lodges visited. Amboseli is known for its elephants, and we had spectacular encounters with a number of herds and individual animals, but there is so much more to see and experience here. The quality and service in the restaurant is exceptional, with a very nice list of wines included, and the view is beautiful. The only slightly negative point was the waiter after departure breakfast requesting an additional tip, although we had already “filled” their central tip box quite generously and above Elewana recommendation. We would certainly recommend this camp to anyone looking for a 5-star safari experience in Amboseli.

Beautiful common area. One of the coolest bars of our entire safari. Wonderful staff and really unique tents. Amazing food. Amazing staff. Our driver was Jackson and we loved him. Barnabus was our butler and he was great. So happy and great at making us comfortable. The vegetable garden was amazing.

We stayed at tortilis for two nights including newyear’s eve. We had the best time ever. The tents are beautiful, the food is excellent, the staff is amazing. They know your name from the moment you arrive and pay a lot of attention to personal service. Small handwritten notes in your tent, a gift for everyone, a water bottle with your name on it…. The park with many parades of elephants is impressive and the view from the bar and restaurant on the Kilimanjaro is one we willl never forget.

The most incredible place! We stayed here for four nights as part of our honeymoon. For two people with self-proclaimed very high standards, Tortilis exceeded all expectations. Everything was exceptional - the food, the setting, the game drives, our ranger (Patrick), the General Managers Graeme & Candy who would make you feel like you were coming home after every drive, the service was flawless, the views of Kilimanjaro are unbeatable. I could go on...... cannot recommend this place enough. It was the highlight of our trip!!
