DoubleTree by Hilton Amsterdam Centraal Station

10TH FLOOR SUPER NOISY. We have stayed at this wonderful hotel a few times. Here are the good and the bad : The good: - The breakfast: loads of choices even for vegans. Fresh and delicious. I can't imagine anyone complaining about this outstanding breakfast buffet. - The staff: always exceptionally friendly. - The pets: dogs welcome! - The coffee machine: Every room comes with a good quality coffee machine. The bad: - The queues at the reception for check-in and check-out are insanely long at certain hours. Rarely seen this long waiting time just to get to the receptionist. They would need more staff. - This time, we had a room on the 10th floor, but it was a bad idea. The bar is just above, on the 11th floor... You can clearly hear the music in the room. This goes on until 3 am. We got very little sleep. The next day, we asked for another room. The manager was very friendly and although the hotel was fully booked she found us a room on the 5th floor. The second night, we got a very good night's sleep. Still, this episode left a bitter feeling as we had paid expensive for a room on the 10th floor (because of the view), and then we got downgraded with no refund. - The accessories: You pay a small fortune to have the privilege to sleep in one of the fancy Hilton hotels. But when you enter the room, you quickly realize that they don't have something as basic as accessories. No slippers, no shower cap, not even a cup for the toothbrush. But at least you get towels, so that's a plus...

The only matter is air conditioner suddenly has dripping problem in the late night. We woke up and found there is a puddle nearby the toilet door.

Not impressed. First time staying at a luxury hotel with no complimentary water in the room. The hotline for room service is always unavailable. The housekeeping always miss one thing or the other. Basic things e.g. robe/toothbrush need to request. Need to wait very long time until you get food/service to the room. The staff knocked very hard and rudely on your door, making you think it's a robber. Soooo small a lobby with soooo many people in the line. Is it just this one or is it every hotel in Amsterdam?

i was charged 12.5% for city tax which i told them i alrdy paid but they just couldnt listen. i have to write to trip.com after they charged Then ww dodnt have wifi for a day. they claimed that it was rhe service provider issue, how could that me, no internet for over 24 hours

I was very impressed with very good service. already when I checked in and throughout the stay. The rooms were clean and tidy and fantastic good coffee in the rooms.

Very close to the railway station, easy to reach city center, boats cruise stations are also near the hotel, there is a small shop near the lobby where you can buy some snacks, beer and water. Rooms are clean and cozy.
