The Hoxton, Amsterdam

They we’re very accommodating and helpful. The lobby is full of life and the restaurant serves simple and delicious food. One thing to mention: They didn’t service the room as requested. We requested twice and had to call for towels.

Wonderful location. The staff super friendly and attentive with our needs, as well very good restaurant.

Absolutely loved the vibe in this hotel. A cozy room, a very chill lounge, and good food/drinks @Lotti’s. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was a plus to get around to the main spots. Will definitely stay here again.

The location of the hotel is great, very close to Dam Square and Anne Franks House whilst still being on a quiet canalside street. The reception staff are so friendly, as were housekeeping during the day. The rooms are not huge, but good sized for a city break. Bed was comfortable and the complimentary water was a nice touch. Lottis the restaurant was good for food, the soup, burger and beef were excellent, however poor for drinks service - expect to wait quite a while for drinks with or without food unless you sit at the bar and order directly with the bar staff If you are staying in the hotel, be prepared for the photobooth queue. It was annoying as a paying guest to have to ask non-residents to move so we could open the main door, there should really be a staff member monitoring the queue when it gets busy so as hotel guests aren’t impacted.

As every Hoxton hotel around the world, the main lobby-restaurant-bar area is always lively and a scene in itself. That area allows for unwinding, eating, and even doing some laptop-ing in a very confortable place (while having a coffee, a drink or a good meal). The rooms... aren't great. Granted, I expected them to be small - this is Amsterdam after all. But the furniture, althought somehow standardized through the Hoxtons around the world, feel awkwardly placed (my first room barely had enough space to pass my suitcase in, nevermind opening it anywhere BUT on the bed). And if we must talk about the service is not de par with what you'd expect from a 400 euros a night hotel. The front desk people, although very nice in their own way, seem to lack the training to welcome you with the expected etiquette (and pride! You represent the "house"!) - and let's forget about the restaurant and bar staff, which, you most often feel like you're bothering when ordering something (that's when you manage to catch their attention...). I spent over a week at that hotel, had at least one meal a day there, and everyday there was mistake of sort, of something was forgotten... For these reasons, I don't plan or returning to that Hoxton, and it's sad because it holds all the elements to be a great hotel. The London and Rome ones left me with far better impressions...

Friendly and helpful front desk staff. Clean and well appointed room. Hotel is within walking distance from all museums and sights, numerous restaurants and shops. Would stay here again!

The hotel is fun, cool, hip, in a great area and the staff are friendly but unfortunately the Hoxton lacks infrastructure and facilities that similar hotels have. You cannot stay here for more than one night unless you want to live out of your suitcase from the floor. There are no luggage racks, cupboards or drawers. The most space was on the floor in the bathroom. Yes, that's what you pay for and we stayed in a "roomy". There is no room service so no food after 10pm. The common area of the hotel for food , drinks and relaxation is filled with non-guests all day long so good luck in getting a table or couch (to share) without a wait. Now all of these things arent an issue if you are being charged appropriately but we paid €450 per night and you can stay at "proper" hotels for that.

Great place to stay. Great atmosphere. Rooms very comfortable. Nice restaurant and bar.
