Very helpful staff and updated hotel. Reserved two nonsmoking suites but one was on a nosmoking floor and the one on the smoking floor still smelled of stale smoke. Hotel is part of a block in old part of town with many begging children and old women that tugged at our hearts and guilt. Nice street market nearby

I recently stayed at a hotel in Madagascar, and I do not recommend it. The bathrooms were not clean, and during my two-day stay, no one ever came to clean the room. The breakfast provided was very basic, consisting of some fruit, bread, and a yogurt. If you wanted more, you had to pay extra. The hotel is located right in the center, which is a dangerous area. The moment you step outside, you are surrounded by dozens of homeless people asking for money. The hotel has an unpleasant odor, and the photos online are misleading. I strongly advise against staying here.

Not good
The area it’s really bad, if you are going with your family I do not recommend it. The area it is full of people living in the street and beggars.
The Hotel has a nice restaurant and good rooms but there is not hot water and they have to check always your fridge to find out if you have taken anything.
Be careful of the taxi fares as they will try and charge you double.

This was our first hotel in Madagascar and we arrived very late (after midnight) from arriving internationally. Staff were friendly and willing to go above to help. Shuttle to hotel was 80,000MGA. Room was well equipped with AC and fan, hair dryer, TV, large shower. Good free wifi. Quiet night and comfortable sleep. Free breakfast included was delicious. All this and we only paid $64 CAD/night!

The room overall was ok and the bed comfortable, but the bathroom was full of mould in the grouting and so off putting I didn't shower. My 2nd night I changed rooms to see if it was any better but it wasn't. The sheets did not fit the mattress so they were permanently rucked up and uncomfortable. the 1st night the restaurant had no Indian food so the options were very limited. No one could give me any information as to the ingredients of the foods. The 2nd night with the full menu was lovely

Communication problem
Location is good. Clean and meets room standards in its class. My negative experience is that they have double charged even though I prepaid online before coming. It was impossible to communicate with the front desk. Although I shared my receipts, altough I showed the booking papers, Although hotels com tried to communicate and furthermore although my friend from Madagascar tried to explain face to face in their language they didnt understand. Dont rely on they are reading the emails, they dont! We have agreed that they would arrange airport shuttle. No one showed up, I had to take a taxi. We have agreed on having breakfast only 15 minutes before than usual, but I couldnt get breakfast although they confirmed one day before. Some Minor negatives: I couldnt have hot water (maybe priming takes time)..
So communication is a big problem. Hotel is good and value for money, but DO NOT make plans based on their promises.
