My friend and I stayed in a dorm on our G Adventures tour and had a great stay. Everything is clean and well maintained. Also a great courtyard area with food and space to socialise. Only small criticism would be that each of the rooms was a different size and we felt a little cramped in ours- whilst others had heaps of space.

Lemon tree hostel staff are the best! I’m backpacking at the moment and was extremely sick and the lemon tree staff were so kind and really looked after me! Brought me herbal teas and hot water bottles! The plane in the middle of the hostel is so cool and the calm relaxing vibe is so lovely! Would totally stay there again and Walter is so kind. Thankyou Lemon Tree.

Only three "working showers" for large hostel, one of which gave electric shocks to several of our party and when this was brought to their attention the had someone take a very brief look and stick a warning label on it. Pun intended but absolutely shocking hostel and service in this regard. Other showers out of order and no apparent attempts to rectify this. Good coffee bar and lady there very nice though. Toilets kept clean which was a relief but the shower situation was genuine risk. Small dorm rooms in terms of floor space per person, super lumpy pillows and hairs on sheets.

I stayed at Lemontree hostels in Antigua and Grenada for a total of 5 nights, I had a very disappointing and frustrating experience When laundry was returned to us in Antigua, items were missing, when they were questioned on missing items they were rude and kept saying this wasn’t possible. After further investigation a total of 3 tops, 1 shorts and around 6/7 pairs of socks were not returned to us. Water was very temperamental and was broken hours at a time. My bed was the top of a 3 bunk situation in a 6 bed room. There was no curtain, no privacy and the bed actually overlooked into the courtyard, through a no-glass window, so members of the public could see me sleeping, furthermore this huge almost metre squared hole was a security risk. Further security risk included no locker space for luggage - in a dorm room shared with other people. No key was provided and the room remained open throughout my stay for people to go in and out of. Wifi was awful and not available from the bed, only in the communal spaces in which this only worked around 20% of the time. Likewise in Granada, wifi was completely inaccessible from bedrooms. There was no toilet roll or hand soap in the communal bathrooms. In Granada the rooms were incredibly hot and stuffy. Overall the biggest disappointment was the missing laundry, other issues may be justified by the price of the hostel and the low expectations that come with that. However losing so many items of clothes that were carefully considered for a month long backpacking trip, with very little opportunity to replace them appropriately in these towns/cities was unacceptable.
