Nice cozy hotel for spending a weekend and escaping from the daily rush. Super clean and very friendly staff. Indoor parking which is a plus. They have a nice patio inside which resembles a classic Antigua Park. Rooms are cozy, clean and they have a nice shower. Overall a nice place to stay with the family or that significant other.

We nice hotel with a nice restaurant overlooking at the nice garden. The rooms are quiet and very clean. The only issue was that the king bed we got was very firm almost too firm and a little uncomfortable. All the staff was extremely courteous and nice.

I have just returned to the U.S. after leading a team of 31 people who served in an around Chimaltenango. We stayed for 7 nights at the Villa Colonial hotel. This is an excellent place to stay, all across the board. The staff team did a wonderful job of accommodating us (with all of our needs, too!). The breakfast served each morning was great. The rooms clean, comfortable, and spacious. The area surrounding the hotel was safe, quiet, and beautiful. I would absolutely recommend Hotel Villa Colonial and have every intention of returning with another team next year.

Our group of ten people stayed here for 2 nights at the end of a mission trip. The hotel was very nice and comfortable, with beautiful grounds and a relaxing feel. Our kids appreciated the small pool and we enjoyed both breakfast options (pancakes or traditional breakfast of eggs, beans, plantains, and fruit). The staff was very helpful, as one in our group was sick and confined to the room and they brought him food, even customizing their available menu to try to get him something he could eat. That was very much appreciated! The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of outlets to recharge phones. The only negative thing was that the shower didn't drain well, but that was a minor inconvenience. We felt the city was very walkable and felt safe even at night. I would stay here again.

The facility itself is beautiful. Great design with nice buildings with an antique feel, lovely garden, and nice swimming area in the far corner. The rooms are fine. Spacious with excellent shower/bath with working hot water. TV worked fine and upstairs rooms have a nice balconey overlooking the grounds. The restaurant has a limited menu, but the meals are safe and good tasting. The staff is friendly but not as efficient as most Western tourists expect. The main liability is its distance from central Antigua, but we had to stay here due to the vast number of tourists during Easter week. (We did have a procession pass by our first night, however)

Stayed two nights. Room smelled like old, wood furniture. I even had freshener and it didn’t help. I constantly had the windows open which was an inconvenience as anyone walking by could look in. Beds were comfortable and outlets right behind each bed! Basic bathroom; no toiletries. You must ask for room cleaning. Breakfast only has two options: pancakes or eggs w beans. You can walk to town center but it’s scary to walk at night. Not sure this was a real pool; seemed more for decoration. Great Italian restaurant next door and small store at corner for snacks.
