Welcome to our cozy little HumBee Studio. Our rental is located in a ideal location for a visit to Eureka, we are walking distance from a variety of things. We live in a quiet neighborhood with lots of on street parking. There is two houses on the property, but the rental is separately fenced off and has privacy. Located in a safe and secure building, this unit has an open floor plan that is sure to make you feel at home. Featuring 20-foot ceilings, tall bay windows with indirect bay views, a fireplace to keep you cozy, a dining area, a full kitchen and much more. Also including a work station, some games and books, a large flat screen TV (streaming only), and plenty of seating giving you options to relax. There is a pull out couch downstairs and plenty of sheets and blankets. Up the open stairway leads you upstairs to both bedrooms with queen beds and a full bath. The decor is simple and cozy with some vintage nautical touches. Making this a great choice for family vacations or work-related getaways. Please be careful of parking under trees as some birds love the bay view as well and like to nest above the trees and tend to leave behind some droppings. This is a detached apartment to our 1907 Craftsman home. Located just a short (10-15 mins) walk to Old Town Eureka. We are also about a 20 minute walk to Henderson Center. We are a few blocks away from Brick and Fire, a lovely restaurant. We also have our own walking distance dive bar! There is a giant shared yard, but it is still very private. There is a separate entrance to the apartment. The apartment has wraparound windows and you are able to overlord the corner and people watch. I recommend you park on C Street because 14th is quite busy. CAUTION! For those who have ambulation issues, there’s an entire flight of stairs to access the apartment.The spaceCOVID-19 update: Our safety plan was approved by Humboldt County once they started allowing businesses to reopen in summer 2020. I have provided hand sanitizer, masks, sanitizer spray, and wipes for your safety. The apartment is detached and I have two different options to enter my house so please let me know if you feel uncomfortable with encountering us if we enter through the backdoor. We don't mind using our front door. If we do have a face-to-face encounter we are definitely going to be more than 6 feet apart. I'm also a clean and neat freak and follow a very strict protocol when it comes to cleaning. I also sanitize all shared surfaces especially light switches, door knobs, remote controls, etc. after every guest. We keep an air purifier in the apartment. Living room has a smart TV, couch, and wall heater. An air conditioner is not necessary for this corner of the world. We have what I call natural AC. There is a full kitchen with microwave, pots & pans, kitchenware, oil, spices, Brita, coffee, tea, French press, and hot water kettle. Bedroom has all essentials and mattress is medium firm. So if you prefer a soft mattress, this may not be the place for you. Iron and ironing board. Bathroom has all amenities - shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hair dryer.Other things to noteOur dogs are barky when you come through the gate. We usually keep them in the house when new people come around. Ozzie, he’s not aggressive but will herd you. Meaning he will nudge your heel with his snout as he is a herding dog. Please let me know if you are uncomfortable with that. We try to keep him inside because his persistent barking is the most annoying part. He hates greetings. But if you are well-versed with guardy, herding dogs - he is a typical case. Our red heeler, Ruby, is only a pup (just turned 1 on 9/6/2022). She might come to your door for breakfast as she is used to having guest let her roam through the apartment. Don't feel obligated to let her in. We're good about calling her back if she's gone for too long from the house. Both are usually at work Mon-Fri off site. Cozy little independent studio with safe offstreet parking. Parking area and property is shared with the main house, but there is lots of privacy with a large covered porch that looks out over a veggie garden. Basic amenities provided so that you can focus on experiencing the great outdoors in the nearby state and national parks or any of the other local sightseeing opportunities. It is a very cozy space best suited for a couple or single guest. Or travel with a pet - fully fenced yard provided.Very cozy tucked away spot that's great for listening to the rain under the metal roof over the big porch. Lots of sunlight when the clouds clear which adds to the warmth of the space. Limited amenities, but a kitchenette space and shower stall are provided. Other amenities include soap, shampoo, conditioner, towels,as well as coffee, tea, coffee maker, hot plate, toaster, microwave, utensils, cups, plates, pot and pans and micro-fridge/freezer. Please just reach out if there's something else that's needed, we likely have it and are able to lend it.Guest access and parking:The gate from the parking area can be accessed with a latch and the front door to the studio is accessed with a keypad using a 4-digit code (usually the last 4 of your phone number unless otherwise specified).Please only use parking space #2 during your stay as we do host another rental on site.
