We visited GB Hotel during April school term break to get some sun with our 3 and 8 year olds. The flight landed at 08:30 and the shuttle took an hour to reach Hotel. We were greeted at the reception and were also offered dinner after kitchen had closed. This was a life saver esp for the kids who had a long day. We were upgraded to the sea view room - the sea view rooms are worth the upgrade as they provide an amazing view of the sea. We had gone half board so we had breakfast and a meal (the hotel is flexible with lunch or dinner option). We always had dinner as we went out during the day, but we also had light lunch at the hotel on most days. We are vegeterian with kids who are fussy eaters. Kids loved pasta and the pizzas and were happy with their meals and sides. Leaving kids aside, the food in general was great - portions were huge, and we never finished everything ever! Breakfast also had great choices with fresh juice and nespresso coffee to start the day. There were dairy free options too, but we didn't need them. Rooms were cleaned everyday and jaccuzi was a big hit with the kids. There is pool and some other games available too. The outside pool was heated and is a great option esp when the temperature is under 20 degrees. We used the pool on most days esp the ones when the sea was choppy. We also used the bicycles which are free to use (ebikes are at a cost). Beyond the hotel bikes, there are loads of moped, car hire and quad bikes available for a 5 min walk. The town was also welcoming and we were able to find groceries and kids favourites close by. We also had an aircon fault - it had a circuit fault, but the hotel team and esp Mr Antonio were very accommodative and sorted the aircon next day. We didn't really need cooling, we only needed the heating for a couple of hours before sleep when the temperatures dropped and the wind had chill. Rooms are constructed to be cozy and they get warm in the morning (because they are east facing) - from about 3 pm, sun goes to the other side so there is a lot more shade. I believe this will be amazing esp during peak summer when temperature is in the high 30s. The owner, esp Mr Antonio, were around almost all day and would swiftly resolve issues. Folks at the reception and people managing hotel were very helpful whenever we needed any help. We would definitely return, perhaps when it's warmer to enjoy the town and perhaps the whole island more in future. As it was our first trip, there was enough at walking distance to spend our 4 day trip. We will mostly book a car and go around next time as the island is huge and there's loads more to explore which gets easier with a car hire. It was an amazing trip and we would remember it for a long time. Thanks to the staff and the hotel owner who worked hard to give us such an amazing experience.
