Appin Bay View

Probably the best view and stay ever. Fabulous greeting, relaxed, unpretentious and the friendly entertaining chat from our host made it all the more memorable. Also the breakfast was brilliant. Nothing was to much trouble, also a surprise bottle for hubby on his birthday on arrival was lovely. The list goes on… bed was soo comfy fresh ground coffee in our room and as we had nowhere booked for dinner the first night our host sorted us a table at the old inn , the best steak ever! We will definitely be back x

A really comfortable B&B with surely one of the best views in Scotland. Our room was impeccably clean and spacious, and the bed was very comfy. The breakfasts are delicious (try the Thai breakfast if you are a fan of something savoury) and Mike is a warm, helpful and informative host.And there is an excellent pub eatery in walking distance. It's a great base for exploring the area round Glencoe and down to Oban. If you can get a room overlooking the bay, there is a truly wonderful view of Castle Stalker and the hills and islands beyond, which is unforgettable. We will try and come back.

We experienced a very warm welcome from Mike and his staff members. Nothing is too difficult for Mike. He is always there to help. The room was very clean with a nice view on the castle. What a brilliant start to my Scottish road trip. This place set the bar high. We had the warmest of welcomes, Mike the owner is great and dead friendly and everything felt so easy and chilled the minute we arrived. After a quick unpack in our very comfortable room (a lovely garden view and equipped with kettle, fluffy robes, nice powerful shower and a big walk in space for all my luggage I bring and don’t need), followed by a really tasty meal and drinks at the Old Inn that we wandered along the road to, it’s our first night arrival and I’m wishing I could stay here the entire couple of weeks! It’s so peaceful this place, any stress lifted immediately and you could sit for hours enjoying the amazing view of Castle Stalker on the communal balcony. I loved that view every day whilst enjoying my breakfast and it always looked slightly different dependant on weather, just perfect! I loved how thoughtfully the tables were rotated to let everybody get the front view, that’s a great host that is. Fresh milk is in the fridge for your cuppa if wanted. Beer and wine in the fridge and an honesty/charity box too if you fancy a little drink on the balcony enjoying the view. Breakfast is immense with fab choice and you just tick what you want (it’s generous) - you have to try the Thai breakfast, I had it all 3 mornings it’s absolutely delicious. The yogurt was amazing too. Mmmm. Book your restaurants like Mike recommends, the Old Inn had to turn away so many people as we sat in there and it was a Monday night .. seemed very popular and was sooo worth going. All in all a really fabulous stay, lovely hospitality, great staff, great views, great room, great grub, stress free. No complaints here and I cannot wait to go back. Thanks Mike and all. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Heroic breakfast with stupendous views over the Castle Stalker. Handy for Glencoe, Loch Leven, Fort William and Oban. Staff could not have been friendlier, well appointed rooms and a shower "that would take your tattoos off." Will be using this as a base for West Coast travel in the future.

Such a lovely place to stay. Owners are lovely and very helpful. Rooms and beds are extremely comfy, breakfast is amazing. Really fantastic place to stay. Mike has lots of advice and is very funny. The old inn just a few 100yards away I’d incredible food.

Fabulous stay over four nights. Mike is a wonderful host, nothing was too much trouble, Very large and comfortable room, fresh milk in fridge. Delicious breakfast cooked to order, fresh fruit and yoghurt. Fantastic view to Stalker Castle. Highly recommend.

Fantastic host , beautiful room with awesome views.Mike was a fantastic host ,very helpful Once settled in he appeared with bottle of beer for my partner and a glass of prosecco for me,and If that wasn't enough two scrumptious cakes waiting to be devoured. Mike goes above and beyond what you expect from a guest house. The room was immaculate there was a choice of teas and fresh coffee.and the bed was super comfy.Fantastic breakfast I could go on ,but I suggest you try it for yourselves .

My partner and I have been on some wonderful holidays, but nothing compares to this trip. Three nights of bliss…the area itself is incomparable to most… just beautiful! The B&B itself, I’m not even sure where to start. It has absolutely all the wonderful benefits of being a B&B as well as the luxury and privacy of a hotel. Mike, the owner is one of a kind. An extremely kind, generous and interesting character. So much advice on the local area, including where to visit, what to do as well as sharing such interesting history on the local and wider area! Mike has a lifetime of hotelier experience and it shows… In the quality of the rooms, breakfast (the mattress and bed linen were fantastic), organisation and our warm welcome! Mike…thank you. There isn’t a doubt in my mind that we will be back, and I would recommend to anyone, it’s a must.
