The Townhouse Hotel

Stayed in The Townhouse overnight and we had a great time. The room was small but it was comfy, clean and had everything you need for a comfortable stay. We had an evening meal and both meals were delicious, generous portions and quality ingredients, would recommend the beef stroganoff, so tasty. Breakfast isn’t included but is very reasonably priced and was delicious, good choice on menu from full Scottish to choose your own. We can’t praise the staff enough, all very friendly and helpful, special thanks to Susan who made us feel very welcome and looked after. Thanks guys, we’ll be back!

My husband and I stayed for 4 nights and as soon as we arrived (too early!) for check-in, we received outstanding service. We were over an hour early for check-in, but the team took our bags and offered for us to stay for food/drinks and they would keep us informed about our room. Sure enough,half an hour later were were told our room was ready for us. Over the next 5 nights, we had interactions with many staff, and they were all friendly, chatty and extremely helpful. Shout out in particular, who one late night, when were the only ones in the bar, gave us a plate of biscuits and some sweeties and crisps! We ate in the restaurant a couple of times and the food was always quality and we also sampled a few of the cocktails and mocktails. The mock pina colada was my personal highlight! The hotel is listed as 3 stars but it honestly wouldn't take much to bring it up to a 4 star standard because it's definitely beyond that in service. The room was comfortable and well cleaned each day. If I'm being fussy, I will say we could have done with a bedside table and lamp on both sides of the bed, not just one. But in the grand scheme of our overall experience, it's a pretty minor gripe. It was our first time visiting Arbroath and we loved our visit, so plan to come back early next year. We will absolutely be looking to book The Townhouse again and would happily recommend it to anyone else visiting the town. A lovely hotel with brilliant staff and excellent value for money. It's also in a good location, within walking distance of the train and bus stations and near to plenty of shops/cafes/restaurants. It's also just short walk away from the Harbour.

Stayed for a couple of nights. Nice big room. Great breakfast for £6 - plenty of locals coming in for it which is a good sign. Very friendly staff always smiling and wishing you a good day / night etc. no matter how busy they were. Will visit again.

A small but friendly hotel. Great service from the staff. Attended a wedding and needed to dress early in the day, room was ready even earlier than expected, thank you. The set breakfast is great value for money and them large breakfast is not for the faint-hearted!!

I was visiting Arbroath for an appointment and stopped by for a quick bite to eat and to do some emails. Unfortunately the WiFi at the hotel isn’t the best, I wasn’t able to do any work. I did however enjoy the food and the service from Judith was very friendly and professional. Soup and a roll combo with salad and crisps and a drink for a tenner! Bargain!

Absolutely fantastic staff all so happy , kind, service excellent. Jodie was extremely helpful always jolly and lovely. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone. Food was great. Breakfast delicious. Rooms really clean, teas and coffees in the room. Would have appreciated a table to put a few things on and a couple of hooks but in my opinion I can highly recommend this hotel. One more night here left but I would definitely stay here again. Thanks to everyone making our trip so lovely.
