Vita Hoteles Arequipa

Excellent service from start to finish. Front desk staff was super professional, bilingual, always alert of our needs or questions. Especially when traveling with a 20 month year old baby, the hotel staff was super friendly and lovely to him, making sure he was ok at all times, this was much appreciated from a new parent. The hotel offers breakfast in the morning, the breakfast food was amazing, all made by locals and their seasoning was top top, they offered fresh juices in the mornings well. There is also a restaurant in the roof top, with a full bar and a very yummy menu, we spend a lot of night here just enjoying the view and the peaceful nights in Arequipa. We were traveling from California, but the staff from Vita Hotels made us feel at home. We can't wait to go back to Arequipa and stay at Vita again! Highly recommend.

Great location for exploring city. Fantastic service - really helped that they let me check in early when only staying one day. Bathroom soap was a bit miserable- but can’t complain for the price. Super clean and comfortable - and rooftop micro pool looked nice, but didn’t use

Location is the best of the hotel and also the breakfast. I totally recommend Catta the restaurant on the highest floor and the view as well is a must. Overall the hotel is clean.

I would have given zero star if possible. Dishonest and treacherous at the best! After travelling to 50+ countries (third time in Peru), I rarely encountered problems with highly rated hotels. It is baffling to see these many exceptional reviews for a basic hotel. I paid extra 25 USD for checking in 2.5 hrs earlier and paid 50 sols for the airport taxi (Uber will cost you 15 sols for this 15 minutes ride during early morning) for the day of the departure. The reception told me it will take me more than 1 hr to reach the airport and I was here in 13 minutes! I was offered room 404. Just outside the room there were dirty dishes, unfinished foods and it was stinking. Inside the room there was already some garbages in the garbage bin. And the city/mountain view that was offered in the website was looking at the washrooms of the other side of the hotel. When I complained to the reception, I was told that nobody else had complained before and I can go to other hotels. Hence, my opinion was to get out of the hotel which I booked 45 days ahead of time with my bags after a 12-hr long bus journey from Nasca and look around for another hotel! Apart from that we found bugs in the room the next day and kept our bags closed all the time. Breakfast was very poor compared to any standard Peruvian hotel which we cared little as Arequipa rocks when it comes about food/coffee/deserts. The hotel informed *********** that I didn’t stay at the property and/or didn’t pay full price, which’s utter lies. Extremely disappointing experience; will never stay or recommend anyone to stay here!

We were unable to get a car to drive up to Colca canyon and ended up spending two nights at this hotel. the breakfast was good and nourishing. the staff was super helpful--they tried to find us a rent car (none in town!!!) and got our laundry done on a sunday. the hotel is close to plaza de Armas and lots of restaurants and sights. we ended up staying here after we toured colca canyon because it was such a great deal./

I asked them to store the big luggage for two days and they did it gracefully. Upon return they offered a nicer room for the same price. Very customer oriented.

The overall property and staff were great. The breakfast was Great. The only issue was the iffy internet. My travel partner needed reliable internet to teach a class online. The wifi and internet were mostly horrible and made it almost impossible for her to teach her class without interruptions.

Problem 1- We paid extra for a jacuzzi room (only jacuzzi 80 soles per night) and the jacuzzi is broken( they still charged us for 6 days). They know for the drain plug doesn't work. When we pointed it out to hotel management they said that they know its broken and thats why they glued a piece of rubber to the plug (Cuesta 5 soles ese rubber y goma) so that you can get the plug out. Then the next day the rubber broke off.... when I inspected it I could see it was just glued on there. This is indicative of really poor management trying to save money using very shoddy patch fixes rather than fixing the actual problem. Problem 2 - we were gone for 2 days for the colca canyon trek. When we came back our hotel room door was WIDE OPEN??? Nothing was stolen but when we asked management about it they said first the cleaning people left the door open but then a man came said he opened (without our permission) because wanted to see if the room was vacant so weird. Problem 3 - we lost our keycard. Apparently its $7 USD (27 PEN) to replace the keycard. They waived the charge after we complained due to other issues during our stay - but I mean it costs pennies to replace a keycard. I've never seen a hotel penny pinch so hard. Problem 4 - speaking of penny pinching, during checkout they accused us of coloring a towel with a pen and wanted to charge us for the towel. We explained that's purple shampoo.... and the reason it's there is because WE COULD’T TAKE a shower because the broken jacuzzi was filled with water (it's a shower jacuzzi combo). Problem 5 - we stayed on floor 3 sound from the clubs nearby and rooftop is very audible such as people dropping things, movement - and music. There's a bar on the rooftop that was playing music late at night on Saturday night so if you have trouble sleeping you just won't be able to sleep that night. The other 6 nights of our stay there was no audible noise / music but that 1 night was enough to complain about. I complained and when I came another person from the 2nd floor was complaining for the same reason. They told me because there are clubs nearby and I said why you guys never said anything to the guest before booking. They knew that there are noises because is not the first time that someone complained about it. Problem 6 - their wifi networking is poor. The wifi with the strongest connection was operating so slow it essentially was not usable. When confront at the front desk they offered no solutions and said their internet is fine. I swapped to another wifi network (they have multiple and to my surprise the one with the least strength gave me the fastest internet speed (and once I did the speed was fine). If you have a slow connection try one of their other wifi networks and it might work. I'll attach a picture of the rubber thing they glued to the jacuzzi plug to "patch" fix it rather than actually fix the knob that lifts the plug. Its like a 2 sol item and they charge 60+ish sol
