Bestwood Lodge

A lovely place. We we're a bit iffy on sraying due to the rating of the hotel but after reading the reviews most were about the rooms being dated. Since we were only planning to be there for a night, who cares? There was an issue with the booking from Trip.com's side which the duty manager Declan was able to resolve in a timely mannor while also making the wait very pleasant with some nice chat. The staff were lovely, including the two young ladys on the bar/food service as well as Declan. Unfortunately didnt get the girls names. The building is stunning and surrounded by lovely woods, perfect for a walk. Rooms are a bit dated, sure, but why are you looking to spend all your time in your room? More than enough to have a comfy sleep in. Also as a side note on that, id imagine It's a listed building and so hard an expensive to update. Overall a lovely night and a pleasant morning having breakfast then a walk. Absolutely would recommend.

Well what an absolutely beautiful building!!! Gorgeous place. We definitely got value for money and if we stay in Nottingham again, we'll definitely stay here again. The staff were so nice, the rooms were a bit basic but so what? You don't come to stay to sit in your room all day! Such a feel good place, I highly recommend.

Booked a deluxe twin very disappointed with the room. It was very dated and dingy. Had to get on hands and knees to plug the bedside lamp in and thread the wire around the back of the bed large crack in the window which would have cut if you rubbed your hand across it. Sellotape was a repair on the shower rail in the bathroom. Classed as deluxe because of the veiw. You had to stand on a chair to see this. I complained while there was told the manager was going to look at the window straight away, still hadn't the following morning. There were no more twin rooms available so was given a free breakfast. This was after another guest in our party got involved. Before that all we got was sorry. We were really disappointed.

From arrival outside and in the foyer and bar area it appears a rather grand house. On moving to the bedrooms it all goes downhill- whilst note filthy they aren't particularly clean. Everything is well past it's sell by date with wallpaper hanging off the ceiling and a wall mounted 1950's hairdryer in the bathroom- the shower (over the bath) was just ok- the shower head needed to be held whilst using as it just sprayed downwards. The heating (lack of it) was awful and because we arrived back on the early hours from a wedding nearby it would have been time consuming to get it sorted. Breakfast was an extra and at £11.95 was overpriced for what was on offer and wanting a nice coffee we had to pay extra for this. The dining area was noticeably dated also. The staff though were generally superb so that was the positive from our stay. The hotel could be great but because of the lack of attention obviously over a number of years it is desperate for a complete overhaul.

Had a lovely coffee and cake in the bar after a walk in the surrounding Bestwood Country Park last weekend. Can't say I'll ever step into the hotel again though after hearing that they will be hosting a conference for three far right organisations next weekend. I shocked and so awfully disappointed. I feel really sorry for the staff and other visitors to the hotel while the spreaders of hate are there. Would have given a higher score otherwise.

Thank you Bestwood Lodge for pulling off the best day of our life. We got married here recently and we have been planning this for almost 2 years with Bestwood Lodge and I must say all my appointments were very attentive and helpful. Brent and the team understood the assignments and I know I very demanding at time but nothing was too much for him and I could trust him to delivery and plan our day smoothly. All our guests have said how perfect and smooth the day was, from the checking into the rooms as most of our guests were staying in the hotel. Rooms were ready early for people to get change before the ceremony in the chapel at 2pm. My husband’s mother was booked into one of the new accessible room which are very nice and spacious and close to the Chapel. The music in the ceremony was spot on. Even though I left my usb with songs at home. Brenton quickly downloaded the songs on his phone and saved the day. The flowers and the decorations in the ballroom was amazing and the room was layout just as we wanted it. Some of our guests were fussy eaters but all the courses were 5 star quality and the presentation of the canapés and variety in the buffet. The food was definitely a highlight. I must mention that all the bar staff on the day worked really well and service was with a smile and keeping the bar stock. Thank you bestwood lodge for making our wedding special and i am sure some of our friends will be using your venue again. We have already booked to stay again in the accessible room for our anniversary. I also would like to mention Housekeeping team thank you for waiting around and sort our room out the first night and for all our weird requests x
