Pätiälä Manor
Cottages 1947, 1949, 1952, 1953, 2100, 2243, 2276, 2277, 4390, 4392, 5018 and 7821
Pätiälä Manor is located in a typical Finnish cultural landscape in southern Finland right on the shore of Lake Päijänne, 35 km north of the city of Lahti. Idyllic Vääksy, the area’s services centre, is situated only 10 km away, while it is no more than a 6-km journey to the naturally beautiful Pulkkilanharju, which is an 8-km long ridge-like esker looking like a bridge crossing L. Päijänne.
Pätiälä manor is an old family home practising traditional agriculture and forestry. Three of Päijänne’s bays thrust into the manorlands. The first mention of the estate dates back to the 1400s. Furthermore, the manor’s lands have yielded a valuable Viking coin hoard from around the 1000s; this comprised 360 coins of various nationalities. The comfortable silverlog and log cottages which have been built along a 5-km length of shoreline stand for apart, ensuring that each has its own space and peace. However, from some cottages' piers there is a sight to the neighbor's pier and shore (cottages nr 1947, 1949 and 2276).
Rich natural habitats based on the waterway, rolling agricultural land, and the eskers create an ideal framework for a close-to-nature holiday, while the manor’s location in the heart of southern Filnand means that connections are relatively short, as well as fast.
- good fishing and boating opportunities
-cosy silverlog and log cottages for year-round use
-logging roads on the manor’s lands provide convenient routes for walking or jogging
-good cross-country skiing terrain, Vääksy’s illuminated ski trails, the City of Lahti’s skiing centre, Messilä downhill ski centre (35 km) and Vierumäki sports...
