Arrived at hotel lido at about 1am and were immediately warned by our taxi driver to be extremely cautious at all times in this area as it is not nice and people can be extremely dangerous and unpredictable. We walked in to check in and were met by one of the rudest men I've met in my life. He barely spoke to us, more spoke in grunts and barely acknowledged our existence. Didn't give us any information on check out or rules ect. The noise outside was as if the hotel was in the middle of a night club with people shouting and music blaring. We got into the room and it was for lack of a better description a dodgy, sweat box. We did not get a double bed, just the two singles which was okay as we seen that it was part of our confirmation that they would try give us a double if possible. My partners bed after she lifted the sheets to get in seen a massive burn hole through the sheet onto the mattress which was not a pleasant sight to see. The next morning we got up to head down to the acropolis and as we were walking to the door when another receptionist, this time a woman, demanded our keys saying angrily and rudely that we cannot leave the hotel with the keys, obviously me confused at the situation, never having to leave keys before when staying in a hotel anywhere in Europe and the rest of the world, I been questioned it. She just continued angrily saying give me the keys now holding out her hand as if to summon the keys and pointing at a sign, saying leave keys at reception, which to any other person would mean for check-out, especially when you were not given any information the night before checking in that that was a rule. Also when we came back to the room the cleaner who had just "cleaned" our room was just standing outside our door smoking a cigarette, which for two non smokers was just disgusting and dirty. The shower was in nice terms a dog bath which we were both disgusted by and didn't use for fear of our own health and safety. It was pretty much a tap on the wall with no divider or curtain that if used would most definitely flood the entire room. The toilet seat was cracked there was no soaps or amenities provided in the bathroom and bugs crawling around the bathroom floor. Overall this place is a dump, horrible staff, horrible area, horrible hotel. Stay away and do more research than we did and you will enjoy your stay in Athens a lot more than us. There is a lot of false reviews out there but I promise when I say that, this is a horrible place and a place to avoid especially for female travellers even if you are with other people.

Good hotel not far from the center. The rooms are old, but for one night it is quite suitable. We lived on the 7th floor, view of the Acropolis

The hotel is used to sleep while you are in Athens for a couple of days, the location is complicated, since it is located in an unsafe neighborhood at night and quite abandoned and dirty. Otherwise it is fine.

We liked how close this property was to the Acropolis and nice restaurants, all with a 30 minute wall or less. However, when our Uber driver dropped us off he warned us not to go out at night because it was not a safe area. On our walks, we saw a lot of things that told us that was probably pretty accurate. The libby of the hotel was pretty nice. You could get specialty coffes, tea, pastries, etc. at the counter and there was a nice vending machine with drinks and foods, more than just snack food for cheap. Our room, however, was pretty gross. It wreaked of cigarette smoke and the smell stuck to our clothes and followed us for the rest of our vacation to the other places we stayed. It was disgusting. And it wasn't very clean either. On top of that, the bed was like sleeping on a very thin rock. Not enjoyable. Plus, there os a ton of noise in the area and the rooms do not block out sound at all. We would not stay here again.

Building outside looks ok, inside, it’s okay if one is hard of seeing, just put some extra cash and get something better…bed ******, roach issue…i was staying one night so i did not care but go somewhere else..you get what you paid for..solo traveller…with family they would have had me institutionalized…again could have been worse..no chalk on floor

How you enjoy your your stay here depends which direction you choose when exiting the hotel. It is essential to turn left then left again and carry on to shops and restaurants.A right turn will take you past what the other reviews have mentioned, and most likely result in a bad review
