Chateau Olmet

We stayed with Eric and Steve from July 29th to 8th August 2025. The accommodation is stunning - a beautiful chateau perched on a hill near Lodeve, with extraordinary views across the mountains. The attention to detail - both inside the chateau and within the grounds is wonderful. We particularly loved the minimal approach to decor - which allows the building and views to shine, the comfortable bed, the regular linen/towel changes and the lovely breakfasts of fresh bread, croissants, fruit and yogurt. Eric and Steve were very knowledgeable about the area and able to make very good recommendations for places to visit and to eat. The Herault region does not disappoint - with the Garrigues, gorges, access to the coast and night markets at towns like Pezenas. Lodeve itself has a fabulous museum and a food market that feels totally authentic - where some have become overly touristy. Foodie highlights were lunch at le Chat Perche in La Couvertoirade (meat prepared over a charcoal fire) and wonderful oysters in Bouzigues on the lagoon. We also enjoyed supper prepared by a local chef at the chateau itself, which made for a tranquil and special experience - with a lovely bottle of rose from Eric's selection of local wines. We stayed at Chateau d'Olmet for a long weekend break. It was the second time we have stayed here. The setting is beautiful with stunning views. The room was large with a comfortable sitting area, the bathroom was spacious and luxurious. Everything was spotlessly clean. A unique feature which we loved was the shared kitchen located in a beautiful renovated barn. We used it to prepare our own evening meal on one occasion. A good breakfast was also provided each day, with fresh pastries etc, which was lovely. We also love the area, the splendid hosts, and we can't wait to return.

Eric and Steven take really care of you as guests! Starting with a served(!) breakfast after a long and nice sleep in their very well decorated bedrooms. Nice garden and warm ( for me at least) pool with a cosy dining table in a sunny corner ! 15 min away from the small city Lodève! Lots of things to look at in the surroundings and only 1 hr drive to the sea! Thanks !!

An incredibly lovely place to stay. Super peaceful, gorgeous decor and a real feel of being somewhere special. All topped off by fantastic owners who haven’t over looked any detail. Loved it!

Friendly house Très jolie demeure nichée sur le promontoire du bourg d’Olnet. Le site est superbe . La vue, les espaces communs, les extérieurs. La chambre était agencée avec goût et le confort était top. Que des plus dans cette jolie demeure restaurée avec goût par deux hôtes tout à fait gentlemen. Merci pour le sympathique accueil. The chateau is a historic building with simple, elegant rooms in a serene hamlet on a hilltop with stunning views. We had a most comfortable bed with beautiful linen. A delicious breakfast was served next to the pool in the spacious and quiet courtyard, and a well-equipped kitchen was always at our disposal. Particular mention should be made of our wonderful and attentive hosts, who succeeded in making our stay extremely pleasant. Great guys!
