Loberias Del Sur

The small town of Puerto Chacbuco doesn't have much going for except this hotel which is the most modern and upbeat place in town. Chances are you won't end up in Puerto Chacbuco unless you are here to take the trip to San Rafael glacier. This hotel organizes this excellent day trip as well as its own private park where you can hike to a nice waterfall, enjoy Patagonian lamb cooked over an open wood fire and sample great Chilean wines. Rooms are quite modern and the restaurant and bar are quite good. If you do walk around Puerto Chacabuco be sure to find the shipwreck which can be reached by following the shoreline past the passenger terminal.

A very disappointing experience where expectations were far from fulfilled. Lack of will to help and advice, lack of services to enhance the stay, no change of Dollars, no plugs in bath tube or basin, so no baths available and danger of losing valuables through the basin's plughole, like contact lenses. Tour guides imposing silly childish rules and failing to treat clients as grown ups. Menu items always missing, tiny containers for breakfast food. WiFi very poor in our room (max 2 bars), heating interrupted while guests are in rooms. Fires only for decor, not hot enough to heat the place. No advice/transfer service on arrival. The list is longer than this.

An unforgettable trip, it couldn't be better to arrive back tired after beautiful but exhausting treks to a warm place, with kind people willing to make you happy at the end of the day. Thank you Loberias del Sur.

The hotel is a wonderful place to visit some hits of Carretera Austral de Chile From there you can go to Catedrales de mármol, Glaciar San Rafael between others The hotel had an amazing staff and espectacular food

The hotel itself was ok, a little rigid, but the location is excellent. They operate a tour to the glacier and this is my problem. The actual boat travel time is 10 hours round trip, which I personally found pretty boring. I thought that the meal service was pretty poor. When we finally arrived at the glacier it was raining pretty hard, so they did not launch the small boats. However, an older woman was on the boat and the captain kept coming out to talk to her. I believe she was the owner's grandmother. Apparently, so that she could get on a small boat, we waited over two hours for improved weather and they finally sent out the small boats. The 12 hour trip turned into a 14+ hour trip. There is no dinner service, they offer some snacks. It is really quite easy to see glaciers in Patagonia and you can get to the face of some, or even on them with a hike (which we had done), so I feel as if this was a completely wasted day. When we arrived back at the dock, they told me we could not disembark because we had to leave in certain groups for the bus. It was just a very short walk to the hotel, so a number of us just waited by the ramp to exit and we walked. The operation overall was not very organized and the communication regarding what was happening during the trip was not good.

MY STAY WAS GREAT, EVERYBIODY WAS HELPFULL, I WILL RECCOMEND THE PLACE, AND RETURN ON MY NEXT TRIP.

This is a wonderful hotel, very clean. The food is good but we would have liked less quantity and more quality. The food was cheap though. Service was ok. The are nice hikes in the area and it's in a very quiet neighbourhood.
