Guest UserThe hotel placed in very close proximity to Baku international airport. They send hotel car for free to pick you up if you ask it. The hotel staff is very friendly and their reception is open 24 hours a day. Very good to stay inn if you have long wait for connection flight.

RiessI stayed for four nights in total. This hotel offers great value for money, the facilities are decent, and it's reasonably clean. The only downside was one male receptionist who had a very bad attitude. The young women I encountered on the first and last day, however, were very friendly. Honestly, for just over 300 a night, especially in a foreign country, I didn't expect exceptional service. But I do expect basic friendliness and respect. That guy had a completely blank expression the whole time and wouldn't open his mouth if he could help it. Anyway, apart from that specific person, it was a pretty good stay overall.

This place is excellent honestly, especially for the guys in the reception. He help us to bring our luggage as the room in 2nd floor. At first I would like to recommended this place but then the bad thing happen when we had breakfast. The lady in the restaurant was so rude, the space is so small and can’t accommodate for all guests. So if you come late then no table available. You have to wait. Me and friends really angry to the lady in restaurant, im not sure whether she’s the owner or only a worker. But please tell the lady to be polite to the guests. I put my bread into the toaster and waiting on my table, when it’s ready this lady took my bread with her hands and brought it to my plate. I was shocked, she supposed to take it with thongs n put it on the plate then bring it to me. Or just let it be, i can take it by myself. I don’t like the way she treated us, no attitude at all ..if this lady isn’t available in this hotel then i would gv like thousands stars for the rating. She hide the food as well, we have to asked her for yogurt, eggs or some foods.. but she will bring it to people who looks like european, happy to served those kind of people. ******!!!! Please for asian especially southeast Asia never ever try to stay here if the rude lady still there, beside her all are perfect and im still kind to gv good star coz im not a rude woman. She will ruin this business tho

Located just outside Baku's Old City at 6:00 AM, the hotel is very convenient for exploring and dining on foot. The Caspian Sea is just across the road from the hotel, and Baku's Old City is right behind it. It's a 10-minute walk to the pedestrian street. The front desk service was good, the breakfast was plentiful, and overall, the stay was quite pleasant.

The hotel room is very big, the breakfast is OK, the management of the swimming pool is average, and it is a bit far from the scenic spots that I want to visit in the city. There are many Chinese tourists staying in the hotel. It depends on personal choice

Guest UserReview of Oldcity Inn Hotel, Baku, Azerbaijan
I recently stayed at the Oldcity Inn Hotel in Baku, located in the heart of the historical Old City. While the location is undeniably charming, right in the center of Baku’s historical landmarks, my experience left much to be desired.
Pros:
Location: The hotel is situated in the very center of Baku's historical Old City, which offers a unique atmosphere with its ancient architecture and cultural significance.
Reception Staff: The staff at the reception were incredibly friendly and welcoming. I liked the girl at the hotel reception, who was very kind with the cat. The hotel had a very cute cat, who came into the hotel in the evening and left in the morning. However, despite their kindness, they were unable to provide much help with guest problems such as transportation and logistics.
Cons:
Cleanliness: The hotel did not provide daily cleaning services, which was disappointing and below the standards I expect from any accommodation.
Accessibility Issues:
Check-in/Check-out Stress: My biggest issue was with the overall experience of entering and leaving the Old City area. Police and security guards surround the area with barriers, preventing taxis or any other transportation from entering without paying bribes. Tourists are forced to carry their heavy luggage for 2-3 kilometers, which is incredibly difficult, especially after long flights.
After an hour of negotiation and paying a 12 AZN bribe (with no receipt or clear explanation), I was finally allowed to enter the area. Similarly, during checkout, the police fined a taxi driver 100 AZN just for waiting outside the Old City to pick me up. This created an extremely stressful situation that overshadowed the beauty of the location.
Corruption and Mismanagement:
The corruption among local police and security guards was shocking and disappointing. Tourists are regularly stopped and extorted for bribes, making the experience feel hostile and unwelcoming.
There were no clear guidelines on how tourists are supposed to manage transportation in and out of the Old City, and no support from the hotel or authorities on this matter.
Conclusion:
While the Old City is undeniably a historical gem, I cannot recommend staying at the Oldcity Inn Hotel or any other accommodation within this area due to the severe accessibility challenges, the corrupt practices of local authorities, and the overall stress it creates for tourists. If you plan to visit Baku, I suggest staying outside the Old City and visiting the area during the day to enjoy its history without dealing with these logistical nightmares.

Comer the roamerThe staff was great! They assisted me with many taxis and even helped me order late night food. The room service food was phenomenal as well. The breakfast quality varied but had a variety of things. Now, the room. My tv was broken and shifted the colors on screen like it was a prism in a tornado. My lights didn’t work for about a day and the room was next to the elevator. Location was a bit out of the way, but at least taxis are cheap!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5
We were 3 friends staying at this hotel, and honestly, it was a great experience. The rooms were clean, the environment was comfortable, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
For this price, I think it’s one of the best hotels you can find. It’s a little far from the main tourist spots, but nothing major — you can easily reach them within 10 minutes by cab.
Overall, totally worth it. Highly recommended!

DMITRII TIUKOThe hotel is in a good location, about a 30-minute walk from Nariman Narimanov metro station, or 5-7 minutes by taxi. Check-in was handled through the Family Hotel. Initially, they said there were no single rooms left and offered one with a double bed. After I checked in, there was a puddle on the carpet in the room after cleaning, which didn't dry even after a full day. The room also had a smell of baby feces, which turned out to be smeared on the wallpaper and hadn't been cleaned. After half an hour of persuading them that this was unacceptable, they miraculously found another double room and moved me there. Everything was fine in that room, except for the fact that it was never cleaned during my 4-day stay, and towels were changed only once, but not the bed linen. Breakfast was from 8 AM to 11 AM; it's acceptable for an unpicky traveler. The selection is sparse, but you won't go hungry. The staff doesn't speak Russian, and their English is very basic. Overall, it's decent for the price.
