Santai Hotel

Santai Hotel is located in the southern end of Amed. We stayed in an Ocean View Bungalow 2. It was slightly set back from the freeform pool with plenty of sun beds to relax. The air-conditioned bungalows are lovely. High set with a mezzanine which is where our daughter slept in a canopied double bed. Our bed was also with a canopy. The bathroom and shower is located outdoors giving it a very tropical feel. Each morning the staff would deliver a flask of boiling water for tea and coffee to the front balcony and I sat watching the fishermen push their boats out as the sun rose behind them. Incredibly peaceful. We had early starts being picked up by Adventure Divers each morning at 7:50am. Breakfast is not usually until 7:30am but we were accommodated by ordering the night before. This way we had time to enjoy a delicious Lumberjack hot meal with fruit and coffee. There is a nice Chinese restaurant across the road and ice cream next door. Plenty of warungs and resturants nearby or a short taxi to Jemeluk beach which has more resturants and bars. If you want a view there are some cheap resturants at Sunset Point area. The staff were incredible Komang at reception was very resourceful in arranging our every request. I don't have all the names but the staff were all super friendly and always keen to have a chat. This place has fantastic snorkeling right off the beach. It's easy without strong currents. We had our own equipment but they also hire it. Our daughter and I had an Emerald treatment. It was included in our package staying for 6 nights. I'm not sure exactly what it was meant to do placing 10 emerald stones on face, chest and belly button. We did both manage to have a snooze listening to the waves lapping up beside the outdoor spa bed . Would definitely recommend this property. Quiet, relaxing and lovely staff.

The beautiful small hotel is located directly by the sea with private access to the black beach of Amed. The suites are furnished in Balinese style and have their own terrace where you can sit in the evening and listen to the sound of the sea. The staff are very friendly and courteous and are happy to help quickly with any questions. Breakfast is served in the open-plan restaurant, which also offers a view of the sea.

Beautiful villas right on the beach, not too far from Amed (we did walk once). The staff were very accommodating. The restaurant was very good, cold beer and tasty food. The swimming pool was great to cool down in. The villas are a good size and have sea views. The hotel staff organised an early morning fishing trip, with local fishers, which was awesome.

Before sharing this review, I tried to get in touch with the hotel itself via email. However, I have not heard anything back to date. Together with my wife and our 1-year-old son, we stayed at this hotel from February 10th to February 16th, 2024. Let me start by saying, the location is fantastic, and the staff is very kind. Apart from the fact that there are a lot of mosquitoes, the air conditioning smelled bad. Apparently, the air conditioning was so dirty and poorly maintained that the entire family contracted a lung infection as a result. This has put quite a damper on our vacation. F.Y.I. Lovely place, right on the water. Great accommodation and staff. Nice restaurant. Do nothing or explore, your choice. Will happily return. Have been twice, twenty years between visits and it was precisely how I remembered it.

The place is exactly at the front of the beach. The place is quiet and peaceful. Environment is nice and staff are very friendly and helpful. They explain everything slowly and nicely. The downside of this place is their room air condition as it is not cold even is already 18degree and the mosquitoes repellent is not useful to fend off the insects because they all flies in from the open air bathroom and with high speed fan, mosquitoes repellent has no effect of these pesky blood sucker. The bed netting is too thick where non of the air from the fan (on speed 5) nor aircond can goes in.
